army armament R27

I'm about to buy this gun from another member:

http://www.actionhobbies.co.uk/Army-..._600_1B6SI.jpg

I asked for that in the wanted section. When I PM'ed me with pictures of this... I totally fell in love with it. it probably is the best looking thing I saw in my life! lol. The color, full metal and all... mhhhhhh.

I just want to confirm this is a good value gun. It'll only be a sidearm, so i dont nessesarily need the rolls royce. I want it to be good, but dont need it to be the very best. It looks awesome, on pictures at least. so how is it?

Conker November 7th, 2009 20:02

It depends on the price. It's good looking, works quite well, but it's made in China, and its durability shows it. It won't match a TM's durability but if you can have it at a good price, its fullmetalness makes it a good value.

A great plus, if you like realism, are the realistic trades.

My loading nozzle broke at the second game I used it at. I bought this set: http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...l?prodID=25596 so I shouldn't have a lot of problems in the future, at least for those parts.

Since you didn't say what you're getting it for, I'll assume it's free, at which point yes, it's a good value.

250. is that too much?

Eeyore November 7th, 2009 20:09

No thats not a good price at all. I bought mine for $260 bnib including shipping. Unless it comes with extra mags or something. Does it?

it is supposed to be brand new.

is it better or worse than a KWA 1911? the one capital airsoft sells for 240?(it is not full metal... but hey, if its better...

Eeyore November 7th, 2009 20:19

If its a retailer that bringing it in ok but if its in the classifieds then its a used item even if unopened. I can't speak for the KWA as I've never used the cansoft version only the full metal. I can say that the R27 had the best blowback and shot the farthest out of the box of any of my gbb's. But I still don't think its a good price. I have bought far better gbb's than the R27 for around $250. If I were you I'd keep looking.

I have 2 of these one silver one black
just like a tm inside, I had the nozzles, and hop ups done with aftermarket parts.

They shoot like beasts.

I use Tokyo Marui mags

I have had no luck with kjw guns

how do you use it if it is NOT OPEN.

I would take army over KWA if those are my only choices simply because of TM compatibility.

mas_oyama November 7th, 2009 21:11

that noxxle thing... its expensive to replace if it breaks?

KND November 7th, 2009 21:13

I have one of those and yes, consider it TM compatibility so it's good price. As for upgrade TM to have full metal will cost leg and arm. I would grab another one too for 250 $ shipped. I paid my first one more than that and spend some time to mod but I don't feel regret because this gun is really great pistol.

I suggest you go for it and don't look back and stop reading comment from people otherwise you will regret. It's your money though.

Conker November 7th, 2009 21:16

Not really. As I said in my previous post, for 30$ I got an Airsoft Surgeon loading nozzle, piston head and spring set. Not bad at all.

this one works! thanks!

and this one is more resistent than stock one?

mas_oyama November 11th, 2009 11:27

other question:

on ehobby asia, for that model, they say it is supposed to be used with:

HFC134a & HFC22 Gas

if mu knowledge is good, 134a is duster (tetrawhatever), while 22 is green gas(propane).

with that said, I know propane put more stress on the gun than green gas... being full metal, I think it wouldnt make much difference... but since they also talk about 134a... I kinda fear green gas would already be kinda limit... would propane be too much?

also you guys have suggested me replacing the parts talked about earlier... beside those parts, would propane be damaging for anything else? and if I swap those parts, would they be strong enought to handle propane???

also with the 150% springs in that? what are the benefits? I think the 150% recoil spring add more kick to the gun (more realistis feel), which is really cool... but the hammer spring... angain if my knowledge is good, that would be the spring in the housing under the grip safetly right? if so, what in the world would be the advantage of a 150% spring there? the hammer would hit stronger... what are the benefits of that?

Cuddles November 11th, 2009 15:39

Seeing that it is full metal, it is my guess that it should run fine on propane.

A 150% spring set would provide a little compensation for the kick and improve the cycle rate, which would be ideal for a metal slide assembly.

Joker.. November 11th, 2009 17:50

Propane all the way with these, I should have listed I installed an upgraded recoil spring in both of mine as well.

I'm thinking about getting another one stripping it down and getting it painted with dura coat, a nice desert finish.

You cant get a TM 1911 desert warrior kit.

This gun is an excellent purchase.
