First footage of UCP(D) camo in the field
http://defensetech.org/2009/12/21/ne...-brit-pattern/
http://defensetech.org/wp-content/up...ghanistan1.jpg Link above takes you to article and CNN footage showing UCP D in the field, actually looking not too bad! |
The UCP almost looks like digital flecktarn.
Still looks like ass.
they just added the fleck's rusty brown.
multicam is way better in afghanistan. or dmarpat... |
It does look like an improvement in the first pic but versus a control of tan I speculate that the tan would be better.
Oddly enough, Kazakhstan already adopted and improved the UCP camo for their army. Looks more effective than the US efforts.

Wow, that's like a slightly effective ACU!
Waa-waa-wee-wah.
Much better... or should I say much less worse?
Anyway, that's an improvement but I still say meh to UCP, be it vanilla or UCP-D variation. |
Hey, is that one guy in Eddie's first pic using a Magpul PMAG in his M4?

Anytime ;). We actually use a load of different gear out there. I know some soldiers rocking the TRU-Spec combat shirts. It's kinda funny down here, only things we can modify on the gun are, Optic (purchased by yourself), Magazines, Stock. Only thing the Army is sorta anal on is, wearing the Combat shirt inside the FOB.

Also, non-permament mods to weapons ie stocks, sights, rails, etc is good with the Canadian Military aswell, unit dependent. I would assume its the same in the US aswell. An yes, some Soldiers, Marines, etc have purchased their own PMAGs, some units might have bought them aswell. But I wouldn't say EVERYONE has a PMAG, majority of troops still use the issue mags. |

If you get offended by me here you will have a rough go in Basic..
When you start of by saying Quote:
Also, this Capt is he serving with the 75th Ranger Regiment or he served with them? Cause there isn't any Ranger units in Texas. |
He's currently running the ROTC for the college at Texas A&M College. He trains his Cadets with Airsoft rifles, he found our site, contacted us and took a airsoft element under his wing so to speak.
Over there in Chechnya we used alot of improvised LBVs because our issued ones were crap.
P.S. I was never in Chechnya |
Everyone chill out. "We" could mean "We Americans"... I do it all the time, back and forth for US or Canada, depending on context (dual citizenship).
I said "we" one time on army.ca forums, some guy said something along the lines of "last time I checked you were a civi". I didn't mean "we" as in (hey! I'm in the Army!). I actually did mean Americans. I use the same thing on other American airsoft sites as in we (Texans).
Its all in the context an how you say it.. when talking about the Military, etc its best to not say "we" unless you are part of that group. Just take it as a note for next time, an it will avoid any hassles/comments/questions. Too easy.

Just about as ugly as the new Brit MTP...
Back on topic here.. I hate the 'white and grey' ACU.. I find it sticks out pretty good in north america, and i do not know why the US employs it the middle east. They could really do better than ACU, i do like the TAN version of ACU though. With the white in substitute for TAN.
This just looks like they threw the flecktarn colors into the ACU digital pattern. Still dont like it, and i don't see why they are trying it out there. Personally i think it's as effective as wearing a yellow parka in a green grassy field. I'm just not fond of it. I personally like the Multicam. I think it's the best choice.. I didn't even think the Military would let them use PMAGs or what ever other mods/external substitutions they want. That's actually good for personal preference. |
