Sig Sauer P226 w/ Hogue Rubber Grip & Insight Technologies M6

http://www.pbase.com/image/45538568/medium.jpg

Received a Hogue P226 rubber grip and installed it. Modifications were required to the grip and it still is not a 100% fit. I'm too busy right now to do some serious fiddling with it, so I just settled with it for now and took some pictures to show you guys. It's now even more comfortable than before (if you can believe that...)

looks beautiful Bri

are the hogues much thicker than the originals? my hands are pretty small, and my 226 is 'just' inside of the comfortable range for me.

Iceman June 30th, 2005 22:24

Amazing look. Waiting on my kit. wasn't expecting to need any mods tho... kind of screwed... doh.

ILLusion June 30th, 2005 22:31

yes, it's thicker than the original. but it's even more comfortable than the original...

I love hogue grips! so soft and grippy. gotta get em for every pistol i get

Lord Jebus July 1st, 2005 00:19

Maybe once you get the grip to fit properly you can post some pics if everything you had to modify so the rest of us that have or are planning of getting the gun and grips could follow in your footsteps...

I'm sure the rest of us could figure it out but doesn't hurt to get some guidance from someone with such skill as yourself.

Sexy!!
I love this gun. The light is a boner multiplayer!!

ILLusion July 1st, 2005 03:37

a boner in one of my threads? I guess.... I'll take that as a compliment... otherwise, I'll pass it on to Tru. He likes boners.

ToRN July 1st, 2005 03:52

how many limbs did you have to sell/people kill to get that light?

I would, but damn, 300 for a light, just doesn't make sense to me.

Nocturnal July 1st, 2005 04:31

I would, only problem, is that it would be instead of my next gun (no more job after this month, starting school)

bruce July 1st, 2005 20:21

Sweet pistol you've got. Have to wait till Tru gets more in stock.

I acutally just installed a set of Hogue's tonight on my P226.

The holes have to be drilled out to a larger size, 19/64, and then you have to slightly elongate the bottom holes as they are every so slightly off center. Bunch of xacto knife work and they fit.

I'll try to take pics and show where I had to modify them.

They are definately much "fatter" but still quite comfortable.

Blastyman January 3rd, 2006 22:44

Brian can you give us a list of internal upgrades of what you did and how it performs chrono's?

I just got done doing up my 226 but I been less then thrilled with the results performance wise.
