Just installed Systema Turbo still getting heat

I was advised that the EG1300 that came with my VFC HK416 was getting hot pretty fast and I would need to change it. They guy who works on my gun installed his CA motor and said he did not see the same issue while it was installed.

I played another game and my motor did get hot but it worked all day. But I decided to heed his advice and I ordered a Systema Turbo motor. After I got it I took my time with the set up. I adjusted the motor set screw and making sure it sounded right. Then I switch to full auto and after a few short burst it got just as hot as my EG1300.

What could be the issue?

Edit: I forgot to mention I'm running a really strong battery 9.6v 4200mAh @35amps

Hey

Hey Dude.

If you're generating a lot of heat in your motor, it means that it's under a lot of resistance. So there may be something wrong with your shimming or there could be a foreign object in your gearbox that's causing your gears to not rotate properly. You'll probably have to (or have someone else do it if you don't know what you're doing) open up your gearbox and see what's going on.

I have a 9.6V 3600mah on a turbo motor and it's fine so i'm guessing that your battery should be alright.

Hearing anything? Maybe the motor height isn't adjusted very well?

Just taking a shot in the dark there, btw.

Some guns have been known to have issues with wiring position in the grip. I have had this issue with G&P guns in the past. If the wiring is not routed precisely, with bends in the correct places and connection done in a certain order, the motor does not sit properly aligned in the grip (and the pinion gear aligned with the bevel gear) and those guns would simply not fire.

Now, having never worked on a 416 and not likely ever to, I'm only speculating here. If the gun is stock, and all you are doing is changing the motor, then your issues are likely to be there. Ensure your motor height and position are correct. I find it unlikely that a CA motor will work just fine where a Marui and Systema give you problems. The key must be in the installation.

Everything sounds right and it fires fast but you are not the first person to suggest checking the shimmies. I don't know shit about how to crack open a gearbox so I'll take it to my guy.

on the same not my maintenance guy said on a different forum the shimmy should be good. I think I going to have him take a look at it Monday.

Do you think it safe to play Sunday or should I wait?

I'm pulling it apart right now to take a look at it. Thanks

Its give and take man give and take. I told her that I had spent a total of $300.00 on airsoft. She looked at my bank records and saw the total of over 2 grand and really didn't give me any flak.

Thats your problem right there.

What spring do you have in the gun?

Are you using a fuse? If so how many amps?

Personally the battery is the first thing I'd check, 9.6v 4200mAh is kinda high. Try shooting it with some other dude's [less powerful] battery and see if that changes anything.

Its the stock spring and I can't get to the fuse without taking it apart more than I'm comfortable. I charged my battery for about 2 hours to check it (man this things fast) but after about min of continuous fire semi to full short burst then full long burst and back to fast semi, it got real hot not just the grip but the wire going the battery.

BTW the ROF is insane. Id guesstimate 25-30 BBPS

Battery is way too high...I had the same problem with a Lipo 11.1V /2200MaH and everything in the handle(wires, motor, battery) got hot. Tone it down a little. I switched to a 1320MaH & things cooled down!

Good luck! If that don't work = internals too snug / bad shimming!

That's HORRIBLE RPM! My gun fires like....15 rounds per SECOND!
