KSC USP Compact System 7 Review

Well nachostheclown had another review on here, and I just got one in so, I figured what the heck.

First Impressions
I've never owned a USP before. I got the compact as I know the full sized is a big frame. Very suprised at how well it feels. Small, but it still fits in the hand good and is quite a good feel. The first thing I noticed overall were the trades. There isn't one KSC Company trade on the thing. As it should be. Everything is just like the real steel.

There is no ambidexterous safety. So this is a right handed shooter. Thre great part of this model is that it has a metal slide. So it has quite the heft to it! I had to check to make sure the receiver wasn't metal as well as the paint is quite good.

Accessories
Comes with the normal tools and ultra tiny bag of BB's. It also comes with a plate for the mag, that doesn't have the extended tail on it.

Firing
A few drops of silicone on the valve and I'm ready to gas her up. I decided to just jump right into propane on this guy. Load up the mag with a full charge. And get ready. I let the mag warm up for about 45 seconds. Raise it up and release the slide. After firing the first shot I was incredibly happy. It was loud and a HARD kick. VERY pleased. The metal slide sounded fantastic. The sound was satisfing and sexy. Shooting it faster I had a bit of cooldown, mostly because I went out into the un-heated garage.
I've only put one mag through it. I don't know the accuracy or the FPS, but I do know that it is one of the best pistols I've shot. Quite impressed.

Cons
Can't really think of any right now! The trades look great, and most are filled it correctly. Sights are non-adjustable, but do have the night site dots on the back. So I guess that could be a con.

Final Thoughts
A great little GBB. I think it would be good to game. With a couple accessories when they come out, it would be a fun little piece!

Well that's all I have to write. Thanks for reading!

PICS!!

Most of the System 7 USP's on the HK websites now come with metal slides...and for some reason are cheaper since they are the Taiwan versions!
I have the pre-Taiwan System 7 USP's and I paid $50 bucks more for each WITHOUT the metal slides!!!

Yeah it is a metal slide version. I think retail USD at HK stores is about $107 or so. Great deal.

I haven't tried the full mag because I don't like firing inside with propane. And outside I can't get good results as it's -14 right now. ALthough I believe Red Wolf has a review with cooldown rates and all that good stuff.

Swweeeeeeett....always wanted a USP Compact, but I got it's 2nd biggest brother...the USP .45

how does the frame feel? is it solid as comparable to the KSC G19 Heavyweight or MK23 Heavyweight? or does it feel more like a TM glock? what are your thoughts?

I assume u are talking about the KSC USP Compact System 7, not the KSC USP .45, but correct me if I'm wrong...shouldnt they be the same?? I never really held the compact version. I love how the G19 have grooves for your fingers...held it once...long time ago

Donster March 4th, 2009 20:33

ya i mean both. Both the compact and the fullsize should be the same in terms of feel (frame material wise and stuff, not size wise). what do you think of it? solid, toyish? plasticy? what?

The frame of KSC USP DOES NOT feel plasticy or toyish at all. It's quite heavy (with the magazine) and it's SOLID. However, it does have a ABS slide, if u are gonna get a USP .45 or it's siblings, u should upgrade it to a metal slide for more realism. The grips however doesnt have grooves for your fingers unless u are gonna get a Universal Houge Grip. It's very well built.

By the way, the bad thing about this gun is the safety. When I first got it, the safety works fine, and wont allow me to shoot once the trigger has been pulled. But now, the safety isnt working, and once the safety is on, the trigger can still be pulled. Read on the forums somewhere that you cant fix this...no big deal. It fires very nicely with a nice kick to it.

thanks for the info. the old MK23 had the same problems i was told. still, as long as the de-cocker still works, who really cares right? :p
