Are propane adapters really worth it? I've calculated that it's not really much cheaper...

Evike sells green gas for $8 per 1100ml can.

The Coleman propane bottles are $3 for 16.4 oz which converts to 485 ml.

Per dollar, I'm getting 138 ml for green gas and 162 ml for pure propane.

On top of this, factor in the cost of the propane adapter and it becomes questionable whether the minuscule savings justify switching to pure propane.

dude! your math is wrong. 16.4oz is by weight not volume! propane is more cost effective period

Oh my bad :(. How do we find out what the weight to volume conversion is for propane? I couldn't find it advertised anywhere online or on the actual bottle what volume in ml it is. I'd like to know how much more cost effective it is precisely.

I think its very worth it because there is actually considerably more in a coleman can than a green gas can. Also, considering that the majority of the time you cannot have a canister of gas shipped to you from outside the country. Even in country I believe Canada post has restrictions for mailing any form of compressed liquid or gas.

Then again your IP address shows that you are American, and given the nature of airsoft in America and how its more acceptable there. Retailers would pay the additional shipping charges to bring in green gas since it would be easier to market.

Up here in Canada we do have access to green gas as some of our retailers do stock it, but for the most part we simply support the Canadian retailer who is the creator of the propane adapter.

Please take a moment to fill in your profile location.

dosent matter, green gas in canada is like 25 bucks a bottle, and evike will shaft you for like 30 bucks on shipping, so propane is cheaper

oOMuDOo August 7th, 2009 21:41

It just way more convenient for us Canadian airsofters.

Plus propane smells nice in the morning.

If you order from Evike, remember to factor in the cost of the anal lube for the ass raping they'll give you.

Certain anal lube will work well in a mechbox.

Water based won't dissolve the plastic parts.

Sodium laureth sulfate (active ingredient in most soaps and body wash) was originally used to wash car engines and is now used on people...certainly makes one think...=P
