Newbie Tank Rules - READ THIS OR YOUR POST WILL BE DELETED

Folks,

Nothing is more aggravating than reading an entire thread only to find someone replying to the original post without reading the entire discussion, and offering up information that has already been stated or is totally out of context in the current light of the conversation.

Any posts of this type found within threads will be summarily deleted. The same goes for any post that meets the conditions below.

1 - No "Read the FAQ" posts

This section is for new players to ask...wait for it....NOOB QUESTIONS. That means that this section is FAIR GROUND for items that are typically trashed and burned in other sections of the boards.

This does not mean that posts asking the same question over and over again will automatically be tolerated. If the same question has been asked multiple times and is in clear view, the post will be locked with a reference to the other thread.

2 - No Flaming

No question posted here is stupid. Unless it's stupid. If it's stupid, you'll know, because we'll be all over it.

Rest assured however that we don't need you to tell us it's stupid. However, ff you feel you have found something so spectacularly idiotic it warrants immediate destruction, please refrain from posting in the thread and report the post via the "report post" function.

3 - No "High Fives"

Posting "+1" or other such nonsense will see the post burned. Be constructive or go back to Off Topic

4 - No "Google It" posts

For an explanation, see Rule 1.

This list will undoubtedly grow. As it's locked, you'll know something new has been added if a new post indication appears. If this happens, READ IT.

Lastly, to the newcomers. This location is designed as a sandbox for you to post your questions openly without fear of being ridiculed. We will make every effort to keep this place clean. Know however that YOUR REPUTATION ON ASC STAYS WITH YOU FOREVER. If you intend to be a part of this community, you WILL meet these people on the field some day, and YES, it's not uncommon for people to travel across the country for some games so don't think that distance will protect you.

It won't be said anywhere else, but it will be said in this post. READ THE FAQ's. You'll be glad you did.

I would also just like to add that if your just going to post an answer that tells someone to read the FAQs, dont even bother. Try giving a real answer or atleast offer them some of the information they are requesting.

bean January 7th, 2009 18:43

Also please don't post a link to google. In the time it takes you to do stupid shit like that you can actually help someone. If you don't have something constructive to say butt out and troll 4chan or something.

MadMorbius January 7th, 2009 20:04

Updated, thanks. Locked and additions welcome by Staff.

BloodSport January 7th, 2009 20:39

Just want to add the mods will give out trolling infractions to anyone who ignores these. Which can lead to bans. So flamers beware, enough is enough.

TokyoSeven February 26th, 2009 21:16

The attitude in the newbie tank is starting to degrade.

I would just like to remind everyone about the rules we have for this section of the forum. If you do not have anything contructive to add, then do not post at all, stay out of the newbie tank entirely if you have to. You know who you are.

Useless posts will be deleted and repeat offenders will be dealt with accordingly.

New infraction will be added when I get home, "breaking the rules of the newbie tank" 5 points, which gives you a 1 week ban minimum.

Ive noticed that this has been happening a fair amount as of late.
I thought it would be a prudent course of action to bump this thread and remind everyone who posts here about the rules.

PS.

To any and all who simply post and tell someone to "get av'd" or "get age verified!". Would you be so kind as to take the 15 seconds and type out an explanation as to what age verification is and what it entails. Shouting "get age verified" at someone over and over again doesn't mean anything if they dont actually know what it is.

TokyoSeven April 12th, 2010 15:05

The time has come to bump this thread as it appears many people have forgotten these rules.

Dont be a douche, dont tell people to go read the faqs, get AV'd without an explanation, no +1s and no google it posts. If you cant be bothered to post a legitimate answer to someones question then don't bother posting at all.

Infractions will be issued to those who neglect to follow these simple newb tank rules.

TokyoSeven July 30th, 2010 08:27

Its time to bump this thread again.

Please ensure you read and understand 4 simple rules stated above.

I will be keeping a keen on out for anyone breaking any of these 4 rules as there has been to much of this asshatery going on the last little while. So Im gonna change things up for the next little while, instead of merely deleting your posts, I will be rewarding people with 5 point infractions. 5 points is an automatic temp ban for a week, those who have accumulated other points maybe out for longer.

If you cant be bothered to give a legitimate answer then dont bother posting your useless read the fucking faqs post or google it post.

This will be everyone's one and only warning.

Still bumping, hoping forum users, new and old, will actually read it.

Seems the rules need to be re-stressed.

This area was designed to allow new players to ask stupid questions, but there are currently 5 seperate threads on the first page all asking about importing from the US.

Please read the FAQ before posting anything. This can be enforced by the board if we so choose, but I'd rather not put everyone through a multiple choice test before they can post. If this keeps up, it might just come to that.
