Real parts for KC02 and KP02.

How close are these two guns to their real counterpart? I ask because the only thing keeping the KC02 off my wishlist is wondering wether real aftermarket stocks would fit. As well, I've begun to customize my KP02, and would like to consider aftermarket grips.
Would aftermarket parts fit these two KJWs? If so, with or without modification?

For the KC-02, fitting a stock meant for a Ruger 10/22 isn't very hard. Two thing to know, you have to modify the receiver in a pretty permanent way and second, you need a stock meant for a .920" bull barrel as the KJW outer barrel doesn't taper off.

Here's mine with an Hogue Overmolded for .920" bull barrel. The receiver has a rear mounting to the KJW stock that needs to be cut off. Otherwise only some light filing and sanding to both the receiver and stock are needed for a snug fit.

I have the same stock on my KC02.

However I modded the stock instead of the KC02. It involve sanding the inside of the stock slightly and cutting a small groove at the back of the stock. Only shit part is hogue stocks when being worked on, spray rubber and plastic everywhere.

Wood is an even easier mod.

Thanks

I did it the same way as this guy, you can see how it was made to fit at the bottom of the page: http://www.gasguns.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=9199

Thanks for the input. I'd absolutely modify the stock to accommodate the KJW, not vice versa. I'm thinking of the ZK-22 bullpup stock.

Any thoughts on real wood grips for the KP02?

siggypoo, I don't think you can legally get the bullpup stock here in Canada... Let me know if I'm wrong though.

You are wrong.

Someone in Manitoba managed to get one in after sacrificing 3 goats and shortening his life by several years.

See here:

Yeah, I saw that too. Still wondering how he managed to get it without involving witchcraft or sorcery though...
I've also seen the Ruger Raptor bodies, and the youtube videos that did the kit install, but that's not in Canada.
Pretty sure the law is fairly clear on bullpup bodies here up north...

One thing I found out is that you can mount a real steel 10/22 into the KC02 stock. Might take a bit of filling to fit and I chopped off a good part of the front end because I had the takedown version.

Actually the KC02 is slightly larger than a standard Ruger 10/22. So yes you COULD mount a 10/22 in a KC02 stock, but it would be loose and wobbly.

However you can take a real 10/22 stock, shave a few areas down and put a KC in it.

Yes I noticed that too, had to use a lot of putty to fill in the gaps. Also I found out that the KC02 stock doesn't give you a cheek weld when using the stock sights or even tech sights like on mine.

Thanks for the input on the KC-02, everyone. I'll take it all under advisement.

Now, about the KP-02; does anyone know wether weak grips would fit? I'm eyeballing a few different wood grips at the moment.

I am actually selling it now as I have other builds I am wanting to fund.. had my fun now it is time to let it go

siggypoo July 31st, 2015 18:29

And how do you like it with your KC-02?
