Any I.R.A. loadouts?

My main setup is CADPAT, but just for fun I was thinking of doing a South Armagh Brigade P.I.R.A. loadout on the side. Anybody have any setups they want to share?

If you were looking for 1970's troubles stuff, often a pair of jeans, leather jacket, or older British smock. As for a rifle, Armalites of the vietnam era. Many types of rifles were used, sometimes captured FN's or the odd AK. They were more of a hit and run type force, quickly hit a target, then blend back into civilian surroundings. By far earlier Armalites were king.

Spot on.

Mostly American gats in their hands as the Boston people quite helped them gathering a large armoury...

As noted above, the IRA "loadout" was quite informal. The picture above and the following ones show that quite well. Gives you the flexibility to alter your loadout to what you want. Looks like you have to get a KingArms FAL though. :D

This guy has a Thompson though:

As noted above, 70s era Armalites were also common, which is the route I'm going, also if you notice in most posters, murals, etc, that they have AR-15s.

well i would like to consider my self a fan of the History around northern irland but i cant recall ever hearing of a flame trower.

they where a guerrilla army. They controlled some of the neighborhoods in bellfast and they had just about every small arms from world war 1 and 2.

alot of british stuff, they would raid the barracks and steal all the weapons they coukld find.

also they had help from there Irish Americans comrades, so they also had American stuff, AR15 ECT...

terrorist one April 24th, 2010 10:54

*Nods* The IRA did have flamethrowers..and actually...on an episode of Most Deadliest Warrior on Spike TV, they had an episode where the IRA fought the Russian Spetnaz. Was a very good episode..but the IRA was no match for the awesome power of the Spetnaz.

The gear's already been covered, so I've got a couple gun suggestions. First off, see if you can hunt up an Armalite AR-18/AR-180. The Provos loved those things, hell, they wrote a song about it. If not, they had AR-15s as well, along with M60s, AKs, and the odd FN MAG, FNC and MP5.

Now, a unique idea if you've got the funding would be to rig up a South Armagh Sniper loadout. This would definitely be expensive, but doable. You'd need a Barret M82/M107 (same thing, different names), which is stupidly expensive, as well as (this is speculation on my part, but likely close) M81 Woodland camo BDU or maybe a Vietnam Tigerstripe pattern, a balaclava, a good scope and a shemagh.

please refrain using deadliest warrior as a valid reference for anything,
it will only get you laughed at.

ya they bring experts, but thats about it, and even then some of them are questionable, cool gore but it's widely agree'd (and verified by experienced soldiers on these forums) that the show is a crock of shit and no way to pit different warriors against eachother.
