Major dilemna

Alright ASC, I need some help.

I'm in the process of purchasing my first AEG and I have my choices narrowed down to 2 options.

1. G&G cansoft m4 with 300rd highcap and a battery (no charger) + KJW glock 27 with 1 mag

2. ICS cansoft M4 + 5 King Arms 110rnd midcaps + battery and charger.

Both are priced at $310...What do i do????

I've been pulling my hair out all day trying to decide.

avoid going to two route when you start a low budget. Gas gun and electric do go together when you begin

Look in the classifieds/AV retailer section and find non-cansoft AEGs, and buy a good one? :D.

Anyways, I would go with the ICS. Midcap mags are way better than hicaps, and its got the charger so you can actually use it. You don't need a sidearm either. And ICS is generally better than G&G, and the split gearbox design is cool.

But seriously. Save a little more money and get something better. A CA or something. There are some crazy prices right now if you check some of the threads in the AV Retailer section...

cansoft will depreciate more, and you've got no choice in terms of new receiver for the ics, so I would do that new safesoft thing by saving up, or go to classifieds.
unless you're adamant, then ICS.

Don't buy a clear gun. That's just the equivelent of pulling your dick out with your balls cut off.

Styrak March 21st, 2010 05:35

+1 on the don't get cansoft, get something better.

Alrighty then. The consensus seem to be go full metal.

I've found a full metal G&G CQB-S for $390 with a highcap and battery but no charger. Am I better off going with this?

It's metal so it's a better choice then the cansoft guns, but I think that you should go with a different brand like CA or G&P if you can, G&G usually uses a different design then other manufactures so you may have issues with certain upgrades.

Double your $310 budget and get a Classic Army or G&P gun.

When you have access to full metal guns, there is ZERO reason to buy a halfbreed.

And I decided to throw my opinion in anyway.

Welcome to an internet forum.

I myself learned it the hard way...

Bought a g&g ak47 for 500$ last august and after deciding i wanted a ak74 instead;
I decided to sell it; after months in the classified, had to sell it 250$ shipped...

Fuck cansofts. Will never buy theses craps again.

Yeah, just get a smart charger from an RC shop. Wall chargers are crap anyways and they're better off in the garbage. They can be from $30-100 or even more but a basic smart charger will extend the life of your batteries compared to charging with a "dumb" wall charger.

The gun itself isn't my cup of tea but if you like it then that's all that matters. However I do urge you to get a "higher quality" gun. Still it's all the same, some people game with JG's and others PTW's they both hit the same and have pretty much work on the same principles to shoot BB's anyways. It's not like just because I shoot you with a pistol you take less damage than if I shot you with a rifle. A BB is a BB is a BB, any type hit from a BB counts (except maybe throwing BB's at someone or shooting them with your lungs and a straw from McD's but even then that would be impressive).

I've actually gotten hit once by a $1 dollar store airsoft pistol when I was holed up in a "crack house" playing defend the bunker. Guy snuck around the back, I was waiting for someone, got a bit too testy and stuck my head out to see if there was anyone approaching then got shot as I poked my head out. It was still a hit.

If you're happy then go for it but I found that you'll always want something more. Keep in mind that here in Canada we preach getting the "best available" but in the US, UK and other places lots of people run around with JG's and other clones and it's not any better or worse of an experience.

Sooo got a lead on a Classic Army M4 cqbr with fully upgraded internals with battery, charger and a bunch of metal lowcaps and high caps and all for just $550. I hate you guys so much for convincing me to spend this much money. This had better be worth it :P

Also, comes with a gun bag

yuhaoyang March 22nd, 2010 00:53

be weary of "fully upgraded", I've seen people use that word with element internals.
