Is it legal to import airsoft parts?

I was thinking about the Canadian dilemma, and why don't people import airsoft guns by part and assemble them here? I'm guessing the m4 lower receiver might be a problem?

You answered your own question.

Parts are usually not an issue.

Receiver importation an the issue.

is it that hard to make a lower receiver? It's illegal to import (kind of) so what if you just got some nylon fiber and the epoxy or whatever else, and make a mold? Probably make two halves and "glue" them together.. You could probably make a good amount of money, assuming it's not illegal.

Fabrication is also illegal.

In general...take anything fun that you can do in Vegas...and that'd be illegal here.

Unless the goverenment runs it...then it's just taxed like crazy. But if it's too much fun...it'll still be illegal.

That sums up 99% of the "why don't you do this/that" questions.

:(

:) Even paintball stuff which is legal here and easy enough to aquire from the states is expensive to buy here. Id say its easier to buy an airsoft gun from the various sellers than assemble one unless your in hong kong where parts are readilly available.

Could just buy a gun and disassemble it. However, you're left with the problem of importing the receiver.

><, just seeing if I could help you guys out..

Wow, what a novel and unique idea you have all struck upon. :) *

Seriously though, it would only increase the cost of the gun, people do build parts guns all the time, but its not any easier nor is it more efficient. We have a functioning system that works for the time being and all grips about price aside we are happy with the state of our sport and frankly its only going to get better with time.

But it is nice that you wanted to share an idea which is always a positive thing.

Cheers

*Im just kidding around no hard feelings

The real thing guys fail to pickup on is that this stuff isn't hard to find.

If I have family in the U.S. of A. can I get them to mail or ship me one like priority post or FedeX or something? I had the chance to buy a full metal a few days ago but it slipped through my fingers.

What part of it being illegal to import do you not understand? You can import all the parts except the receiver. The second it's a full gun or a receiver, it gets seized. Whether it's mailed, couriered, etc makes no difference. It's still illegal.

Mr.Shiney May 4th, 2010 13:34

The Better question is - DO YOU ENJOY JAIL. You cannot mail, ship or otherwise bring into Canada any airsoft device without the appropriate process or licence.

SO NO. DO NOT DO IT.

Kraftmatik May 4th, 2010 13:35

I mean just the receiver dude not the whole gun. Couldn't that get mailed directly to me?

Mr.Shiney May 4th, 2010 13:39

Recieivers is an item specific issue. Some Upper and/or Some Lowers are allowed. It is weapon specific, so you would need to research if the reciever portion you are wanted to bring in is allowed or not.
