RS type 97 piston metal teeth broken?

2 Attachment(s)
I was changing the spring of my Real sword type 97 and I saw this piece of metal hanging inside the piston.

It’s look like the metal teeth of the piston.

Can I remove the teeth and use my gun without breaking anything?
I realy need advice on this matter…

Thank you for your help

if something has broken i recommend not using it without taking it apart and figuring out were the piece came from before firing again

You can try to use it...the gears may still catch on the piston, but if it does work, it'll definitely kill what's left of your piston.

What happened to it? What kind of spring is in it?

Order a new piston and get the gun ready.

I'm glad I already ordered an extra piston and selector gear to be safe with my Type 56.
