New to Airsoft, Please be gentle
Just a few questions.
Has anyone who frequents here have experience with the Velocity Arms VK416 guns? I'm very interested in these and it seems like a good deal. The upgraded parts seems good also. Now my questions are.. This is based off a JG correct? Is the "pre upgraded metal gearbox" good? Or am I going to have to invest in some upgrades? Anything else I should know about the gun? Thanks. |
Yes it's a JG gun.
Stock JG mechboxes are very decent for the price. |
One very anoying thing with JG though : if it's the 1st gen HK416 it's a plastic body which is sadly quite fragile on stock, barrel nut, and about the whole upper receiver actually.
The second Gen looks less like the RS and needs another stock tube to rear wire but feature a full metal body. I prefer DBoys for cheap 416. |
Any idea on who carries a DBoys 416 in Canada?
|
No ones does currently.

Plastic HK416's are decent enough. Karnage (of Velocity Arms) can hook you up with a replacement CanSoft lower if you do happen to break yours - he's a great guy. |
Mine was front wired and the stock did had the gap for rear wiring on the stock tube.
|
Stock JG gearbox are fine by themselves. With some TLC, they can be good.
