Suppressed FAMAS front end

I've never liked the FAMAS, but I've always wanted to build one up and customize one, because they look pretty sweet modded up.

So, the first step in the customization was putting a suppressor on the front end. To my surprise, the stock flash suppressor had no threads on it, no concern of mine, as attaching a suppressor to the dangly outer barrel didnt interest me. I took the outer barrel assembly out and wrote all the measurements down.

2 1/2 hours later I spun down a 7 1/2"x 1 1/4" aluminum into a mock-suppressor. The tricky part of coarse was matching the old barrel assembly exactly, but turns out I'm a better than I thought and it makes a better fit than the original, haha

Quick coat of paint later and it looked a little something like this

This showing how flush I made it to the original front end.

I'm still thinking of a rail top mod for the handle, and M4 "STANAG" style mod for magazines. Although I'll probably end up selling the gun instead of doing anything else..

Ya, it puts a space between the suppressor and the front sight assembly, I wanted the more flush look so it rests right up against the gun and hides under the overlapping bevel at the front.

I had the resources and time, so part of it was wanting to try it too

It's a good thing that you did try it, the result is really nice.

Ya thanks, the only issue I had was putting the foregrip cover back on, I remedied that by filing a 45degree angle on the tab so now it clips in instead of the clunky sliding motion
