It is a complete ACU uniform complete with elbow and knee pads. Im really thinking of buying it, but i usually get ghillie suits...so I'm asking for input from pros or the like on whether they think itd be a good investment

SniperSam September 14th, 2010 06:21

Then again, it gets hard to distinguish right?

AngelusNex September 14th, 2010 06:45

if you like/want ACU it's good.

SniperSam September 14th, 2010 06:58

Well i do liek ACU alot, but i dont want to be hard to distinguish on the battlefield u know?

is english your second language, I think you may have ment that the other way.

ACU works well as camouflage, you just need to know how to use it, you don't blend in with the leaves with ACU, You blend in with the trees/rocks. It may or may not work for you depending on the fields you primarily play.

Nah, im an anglophone...been up since 5 am yesterday, so train of thought is beginning to wonder from "proper english." Because my friend state side is about to sell me 200$ in ACU gear and i wanna make sure im getting my bang for my money's worth. And those clothes in that link i posted earlier would go perfectly with those things, so im wondering if i should get those clothes AND the ACU gear my friend is selling me, or just opt for multicam. i dont have much experience in this, as i was usually wearing a ghillie

Many will disagree with me but multicam is just as effective as ACU in a green forest. Both need the user to know how to use the camo, where to stand/hide and the like.

I think most people would say they're both pretty ineffective in green forest ;)

A dryfit shirt is ment to be worn with a plate carrier or bullet proof vest.
If you put a ghillie suit on top of it, you'r better with a underarmour type t-shirt.

SniperSam September 14th, 2010 11:00

well i know that silly. that was crap load of stuff im buying from my friend. its like an ACU orgasm. patches, vest, elbow/knee pads, hydro carrier and bladder, bandana...etc. Im just wondering if i should what was in my link as well as of that

scottyfox September 14th, 2010 11:14

Also, you can get an actual Massif ACS at a surplus store in the States for $40 and pants for less so it's not necessarily the best deal.
Real ACU > Asian stuff.

Also be prepared for fellow airsofters to laugh at you and call it I See You etc.
A thick skin, sense of humour and love for the pattern is essential.

All Contrasting Uniform?

Crunchmeister September 14th, 2010 11:32

ACU has got to be the worst camo pattern ever for our woodlands. Seriously, I've got some colour blindness. Camo works REALLY well on me. I need highly contrasting colours to be able to distinguish objects clearly. If you're in the woods wearing CADPAT, MARPAT, Woodland, or some other green BDU, you might as well be using a cloaking device as far as I'm concerned. I won't see you. Even Multicam blends in quite well in all but a few conditions. ACU though.... well, you might as well be wearing bright orange hunter's gear. You will stand out quite clearly and distinctly.

SniperSam September 14th, 2010 11:37

but not to the animals! ill be invisible :D
But yeah, i took a walk through the woods today, i think multicam would work better
