GBB Red Dots

I'm considering getting the WE SCAR, but I've read some reviews suggesting the heavy recoil is damaging sites and scopes, so I'd be hesitant to use my current Trijicon. Does anyone have any experience with this rifle who can reccomend the best red dot that'll take prolonged abuse?

Most clone optics are not made to take repeated impact of the blowback. They do not hod zero and sometimes even the lenses inside move out of alignment. Real Steel optics are usually neccessary for gbbrs. While I say that real optics are neccessary it doesn't mean that you need a $500 piece of kit. Any red dot for a .22 or shotgun will be able to hold up to the stress of use.

That's helpful, thanks.

I always figured a C-More clone would hold it's zero, the alignment screws are huge,

Just started using a Hurricane 552 on my WA M4, holds quite well for a clone. My King Arms 553 on the other hand...junked now.

I'm running a good ole fashion Fakepoint. I believe its by G&P.

Thousands of rounds of .22lr have been fired under this thing along with being generally mistreated. Just change the batteries once a year and enjoy.

Now the more high-speed stuff like clone Eotechs and whatnot don't seem to handle recoil too well.

how about tasco red dots?
remembered that some guy used it on his AR-15 and its fine

kullwarrior September 15th, 2010 23:22

generally if you can use it on ar-15 its a definite yes
if its on a 22lr, its a yes for WE brass tube model (The whole open-bolt/closed bolt is a translation error, they're all closed bolt by definition as the bolt carrier stays closed on the ready position)
I've heard some WA m4 tear red dot that survive 22lr, so yea YMMV.

I think I'm gonna try the "Perfect Aimpoint Style M2( Shock-resistent )" on airsoftdepot.ca... Advertised as shock-resistent scope and good for GBBR. If it's no better, I'm only out $60... and it comes with a killflash

You should go with one of theses instead...

They are really made for RS.

Eien September 16th, 2010 15:10

I know some G&P's can with stand recoil.. Hurricanes for sure. Red dots from Primary Arms or Barska (I think thats what it's called) are great if you can find a canadian retail or store that has it... I think there was a couple of topics here that was all about GBBR red dots.

Edit - If I recall, I think coachster said his clone eotech from Deal Extreme is holding up.

technosnob September 16th, 2010 16:41

I was using a replica Micro T1 and no issues. But like anything else if it was to fail it would happen at the worst possible time!!! I came across a 'RS' red dot called the Sparc by a company called Vortex.

It had good online reviews so I took the plunge....$230.00 shipped from a Northern Ontario hunting supply store. It's a great little red dot imo.

I asked the G&P OEM factory to make a batch of eo 551, 553, 553 replica for GBBR. These scopes are re-inforced to work with GBBR. I will have them coming next week. Other scopes that I know works with GBBR and holds zero are perfect ampint m2, C-MORE, doc sight.

Shrapnel[Op-For] September 17th, 2010 19:19

Huang, any chance of bringing in some gbbr compatible t-1 micro dots?

MilanWG September 17th, 2010 19:33

The A.C.M. Specter DR replica works great on GBBRs
