Compact 1911s ?
This thread is directed towards the 1911 nu...ahem, I mean, "enthusiasts" out there :D
I've been looking around for compact 1911s, more precisely the 4 inch kind. I know WA has some in their current line-up, but they are expensive and FMUs just doubles the price + our beloved canadian mark up... WE makes a compact Hi-Capa that sort of fits the bill look wise but the lack of of aftermarket FMU (with trades) is a definite turn-off. I thought of 4.3 hi-capas and Desert Warriors but the slides just don't fit the aesthetics I'm looking for. I'm looking for for something along the lines of the Colt Combat Commander, the Springfield Champion Operator, the S&W 1911PD (4 1/4 inch of course), Kimber Pro Carry or heck, even the Para Combat Carry! Would any of you know about another brand that would make one that I missed or of a FMU that could convert a base gun? (1911 or Hi-capa bases, doesn't matter at this point) thank you for your help! |
Army Detonics .45?
I've had good luck with my ARMY MEU so far, maybe it's worth a look. Full metal with trades and blah blah. Actually the only problem I had are the mags leaking, but it's the same with most brands, TM, WA,... |
Detonics is more like a sub/ultra-compact pistol. I did however took a look at them but it's just not the same. I don't mean to be picky but the style is way different, for added value here's the Champion Operator (I really love Springfield!) :
http://www.fishkind.com/collection/i...aco1911_03.jpg I also have an ARMY MEU, the ARMY mag gets to sit in a corner for pissing all over the place :D. Actually I was maybe thinking of using it as the base for the compact one, upgrading a good share of the internals along with. I'm just looking for something "different"! |

No worries. I read about it in Juicy's. thread though. I am planning on doing that anyways but I'm waiting to place a bigger order of parts before so that it would actually be worthwhile. That's why I'm checking for other stuff to do to it while I'm making my list of parts!
Mais merci quand même Aegiis. |
TM detonics as mentioned before, or just take the plunge and get a WA.
Those are your choices - alex |
WE makes 4"1911s if you want to go that route.
