Cybergun/Cyma M1A1

How do you differentiate the plastic gears crap from the loved metal gears, FMU Thompson?

I've been emailing a few retailers and some people in the Classifieds, but most are using either stock pictures (Which doesn't show the 6mm Tradermarks, etc.), or only the box without any indication of the brand.

One retailer told me he was getting his from Palcosports, should this be an indication?

I'm having a hard time with the brands and everything...

(PS : I'm no gangsta, I'm interested in the M1A1 only)

Hi
I own a Cybergun/Cyma M1A1. I actually fielded it last week. Works great. I did not have a requirement to open the gun so I can only tell you what's written on the box and that is that the gears are metal.
Cybergun is a distributor with their headquarter in France (they do not build guns). Their partner in the U/S is Palcosport. If you get a gun from Palcosport, you'll get the Cybergun logo on the box, their paperwork and battery/charger, etc...
If you want more info, feel free to pm me.

But how do you it is with metal gears? Because you have full trademarks?

I just don't want to pay for a FMU one to get plastic crap inside :P

The only shitty ones are the clear and/or plastic M1A1's.

If it's a metal Thompson, it's the "real" one. Also, price is a good indication.

I've read on Arnies that Cybergun also just put some Metal Cymas into their boxes, with their 200x markup.

Are the bushing nylon or metal? I've read reviews saying nylon, others saying metal. Could it be one being cybergun, and the other Cyma, or just Cyma stepping up in the game and upgrading their AEGs?

Short of opening it, I guess I have to believe what's written on the box. I just don't have the knowledge nor the time to open it right now.

Nah no problem.

It's just that the information differs everywhere.

Some say this gun has an awesome ROF, some say the motor is shit and the ROF is shitty.

I know my way around AEGs, but I don't want to pay a high price for a Cybergun marked-up price when I can get better at Cyma price.

I'd hate to say that but I strongly believe that it's the same gun.

Extremely possible.

Are your trademarks painted or engraved by the way? (Those on the upper)

Kid November 1st, 2010 21:49

I don't think CYMA is any cheaper once it arrives in Canada.

Adamlxlx November 1st, 2010 21:49

I own the gun, cybergun/cyma are the same, its has nylon bushings, shoots 360 on the button with a .2, the rate of fire is meh, fix it with a 7.4 lipo or 9.6 nimh. Any other questions?

Boyso November 1st, 2010 21:52

Hehe, sums it up.

Do you use a wood kit?

Adamlxlx November 1st, 2010 21:53

^Not yet:) Just got the gun a couple months ago and haven't put much into it. It shoots great with .28 right out of the box.
I am surprised shiftsup hasn't posted on this, he owned one too and knows more about it

If you're talking Cyma trademarks, there are none. If you're talking Thompson trades, they are painted on. My M1A1 was chrono(ed) @ 370 fps.

Cybergun Thompsons = CYMA.
