KJW M4 flash hider removal
 

I removed the grub screw from the flash hider, but when I try to unscrew the flash hider counter clockwise, all I managed to do was strip the threads. It's still firmly attached somehow. Can anyone think of a solution? (I hope I'm not SOL.)

It might be glued/loctited. I have the same problem and I've been told to try taking the barrel off and heating it with a hair dryer, sticking the flash hider in boiling water, or using a torch to heat it, maybe one of those will help.

boiling water did it for me when one of my guns had a glued on flashhider. I'd suggest one of the heating methods and maybe trying twisting the other way (though i'm fairly certain KJW M4s are CCW)

Uuuuh, yeah, if it's a Counter-clockwise threading (it is), you screw on CCW and you unscrew clockwise.

Yeah, that was a pretty big fail on my part. So I started trying the other way and neither show any visible signs of prospect. At one point, the flash hider was coming off a few mm, but then it promptly went back to firmly attached after I continued unscrewing it. Is it clockwise while looking at the gun or from behind it?

How long should I give it the boiling water treatment for? I tried it for a minute last night, which got the flash hider quite hot, but didn't achieve the desired effect. Should I do it for a lot longer?

i used a lighter, worked faster, then i used locking pliers to force the thing off. i wasn't concerned about marking it up or putting indents in it, as the flash hider sits over it anyway.with a lot of muscle and a little patience, it gave way

Put the Flash hider in front of you (look in the barrel) and turn to the Right-Clockwise. Its metal no électronique part or Mechanical part so... take like 1 minute in put it out try if is doesn't work put it back in the water and try again in 2 minute ... the Glue gone Liquefied and restart the proceed
