USPS Shipping

Just wondering if anyone had order anything from Late Novermber to around Dec 20? I've 4 tracking numbers, 3 are pretty outdated with is kinda odd...Funny thing is that the parcel with the biggest hassle go through Canadian Custom already yesterday while one is still only having an acceptance at post office notification...

Here's what I have break down:

USGI IFAK
Method: First Class Init sent Nov 26th
Status: Accepted at Post office on Nov 26th
ACU Combat Shirt
Method: First Class Init sent Dec 13th
Status: Prcoessed through facility at Chicago on Dec 14th
OPSGear nylon stuff (Need to return because they screw up royally)
Method: Priority Mail sent Dec 14th
Status: Prcoessed through facility at Salt Lake City on Dec 14th
MICH Helmet (actual Level IIIA)
Method: Priority mail sent Dec 16th
Status: Released from Custom on Dec 28th

I'm justing wondering what's going on, all the seller claim they ship it out, which according to tracking is true as it's parcel accepted not Electronic info.

If you have tracking information that has more than accepted and it shows that it has been scanned at different locations, then it's in the system. Also I don't think all US first class mailings are tracked from point A to B. Priority should be as you can see the release from customs.

Now for the entire month of December, shipping is typically slow. I'd wait until the new year before you get anxious.

That, USPS is kinda like Canada Post, thee info isn't always updated, even worse in December.

So wait a bit, normally, you'll get more info soon :O !

USPS First Class normally only will update when delivered to the end receiver.

USPS, depends a lot on how many stops it makes. And also how quickly it crosses the boarder. Based on the information you've given I'd say they are all in Canada Customs right now. Based on my personal experience, its CP's fault for not scanning it in once it hit customs. Making you wonder where in the world is it. But due to the shipping methods and locations of last scan I'm 90% sure they are in Canada Customs.

USPS will track all Canadian Tracking numbers no matter what the shipping method (Regular tracked up to 2 day CP). However Canada Post will only generally track packages marked Priority and only if they are boxes. Priority envelopes typically don't get tracked in my experience. However, if its a box inside one of the Priority Padded Envelopes, you guessed it, it works like a envelope, which means most likely little of any tracking.

Which makes your MICH quicker to go through the system then the first 2 packages which are most likely in padded envelopes. Tactical Nylon seems for me to always come in padded envelopes when I order from the US, so OPS might do the same.

Your mileage may very of course but generally speaking that's what I'd be thinking right now. I did a stint at work shipping internationally, I found shipping to Canada from the US a bit of a pain, cause of CP not treating the packages like the US does. I can get a package from Canada to the US with full tracking the whole way, but good luck the other way around. However for myself I always ship USPS/CP, its slow, it sucks waiting bit it always gets to my PO Box in one piece. UPS and FedEx has damaged some very expensive equipment in the past. :banghead:

As much as I hate UPS, for the Holidays season I prefer to use them. I got a package UPS standard go from southern California to Quebec city in 8 days, weekends and customs included. Right before Christmas.

Of course I paid 100$ in taxes and brokage where I would've paid 40$ with USPS but considering how fast I got it, that was a decent trade-off.

yea my parcels have taken up to 2 weeks from the Us using priority. My parcels from hong kong and china have take around 12 days

kullwarrior December 30th, 2010 14:52

Well it's just down to 2 parcel, IFAK and combat shirt left, both tracking are not updated.

The USGI IFAK is getting late, but I would not worry about it yet.
