Diving back in: Which M4

hello all

Let me start off by saying im working on getting age varified right now and hopefully it will be done this weekend or next.

I am getting back in to airsoft after about a 10 year hiatus, and am looking to get an m4 as my first new gun. I previously had an MP5A4. I have searched and read through numerous threads over the past couple of weeks but am having a hard time deciding what to get. There is so much more avilable now than before its almost overwhelming.

Currently I am leaning more towards an AEG instead of A GBBR, but not sure what companies I should be mainly looking at.

I have a budget of roughly $800 to cover the Gun, batteries, extra mags, BB`s. I don`t need much other kit right now as I already have numerous AR15 accesories, plate carrier with pouches, MARPAT BDU`s, and a GBB G17 from when I played before.

So using the above criteria what companies should I be reading up on more?

Thanks

If you have an $800 budget and actually want to send all of that on a gun and accessories I would go G&P.

1x G&P M4: $600
2x batteries : $60
Good charger: $80
MAG brand mags : $40
Bastard BB's : $20

Or you can get a CA gun for about $500 instead of G&P.

Good companies are; G&P, Classica Army, VFC, Ares.

Oh and King Arms is good too.

Thanks for the quick reply and info.

Obviously I won't spend the full $800 if I don't have to, but I want a good quality gun out of the box that I can use for years to come.

I will read up a bit more on the above mentioned manufacturers.

Do you still have left over equipment? A lot of people spend all their money on guns and accessories and forget to buy a vest. Then you have to carry your mags in your pockets or something.

You should do read up some more. Also, check out the game threads and check in to see if you can meet up with as it would give you an opportunity to see it first hand and that may just help you determine if it is AEG or GBBR you want. Thats of course if it is possible. Check back with Eeyore after you get verified.

Another option is to buy a used gun from the classified section once you are AV'd. While alot of people don't want to get a uised gun this can be a superior option as there are alot of good deals to be had. People selling upgraded guns for heavily discounted prices and throwing in things like batteries, mags and a charger to sweeten a package. Just be sure to buy with someone with a very good trader rating. If they claim to have done the upgrades themselves ask around to so if their work is solid. You don't want to buy a supposedly great upgraded gun from a 'gun doc" and it turns out to be a piece of shit build by someone who doesn't know what they are doing.

...which is why it may be a better option to just buy new and avoid the headaches. AEG prices have dropped considerably in the last year, much cheaper than they were 10 years ago :)

Good luck!

Classic Army has ramped up their quality as of late. I've had G&P factory gearbox replacements that required reshimming and had other issues. By the way, is Sophia Bush as your user avatar?
