Removing the orange tip on a KWA MP7?

So I've searched some topics on this and it seems to be different gun to gun. Anyone have suggestions for the best approach on a KWA MP7?

Thanks. (My first gun btw :), I can taste the airsoft)

For mine I removed the flash hider and dunked it in nail polish remover for about an hour and it did the trick.

Was it painted black under? and if so, did the black paint come off too? After the soak, did the paint just come off by whiping it off, or did you have to scrub etc.. with something? I'd like to avoid re-painting it if possible.

yah, i ordered a Echo1 ASR and i figure a giant orange circle in a bush is a give away. im wondering if painting over it is just easier

The metal flash hider was black underneath but wasn't harmed by the nail police remover.

Was it Acetone or non Acetone nail polish remover? Also, having trouble removing the flash hider.. wondering if it's lock tite'd on..

Sorry, kinda a newbie.

Thanks for the replies thus far.

Try non acetone first Mike, if that fails use the big guns.

I used a furniture stripper, Circa 1850. In about ten minutes the ugly clown nose was gone.

I use either Orange Stripper (eco friendly paint stripper...doesn't kill you with the fumes) or Circa Stripper (strong furniture stripper) or PolyStrippa (spray on foaming paint stripper).

They'll all work, although the orange stripper is slow to act.

Work it into the tough to reach places with a brush (toothbrush if you're going to toss the brush afterwards...brass brush if you're going to rinse and reuse). Brush in hot soapy water to get rid of the stripper and get any oils off of it.

It'll strip it right down to the bare metal...then you can prime and paint.

Anytime I've tried to just remove the orange but not disturb the black underneath...I either don't get all the orange off...or ruin the black underneath....and then end up completely stripping it and repainting anyways.
