Choosing Goggles/Mask
 

Hey everyone, perhaps you would be able to lend me a hand in deciding which goggles to use. I've taken a search around the forums and found out some basic info that is very useful but now I'm trying to narrow it down between a couple of brands and thought some of you with first hand experience might be able to help.

I know that I want a mask/goggles with thermal lenses at least, the last time I went airsofting on a humid day I spent the first 1/2 of the day blindly walking around the woods due to fog and had to borrow another players safety glasses to finish the day off. These are the brands that I think are most appealing to me:

Now I'm personally leaning towards the Scott Voltage XPs because of the $30 price tag, but I'm concerned that it's going to turn out to be a "you get what you pay for" thing. Anybody use any of these goggles or know of a better brand that is going to give me the best anti fog chance I can get? thanks for the input guys.

I have no idea how bad the fogging is with other goggles but mine do fog a lot.
But the Mcnett op drops (or the anti fog systems used by divers) really works good against the fog

why?
- FOGGING SUCKS. thermal lenses will help you see. (they don't fog as much)
- can remove the goggles from the mask if you want, and run goggles only (easily)
- can easily attach jt vortex fan to help combat fogging if it's bad

don't skimp on goggles; invest the $ otherwise you won't be able to see what you're shooting at. nothing ruins a day worse than fog!

I've got the Flex 8's and the foam is extremely comfortable.

I suggest looking on ebay for deals on the goggles you select. I got my Flex 8's for $60 on there!

None of the fields in Atlantic Canada require you to use full sealed goggles, if fogging is an issue with you, I would suggest using ballistic rated glasses instead. You can get safety glasses for under $10 at Walmart, hardware stores or the Army Navy store that are all z87.1+ rated.

Don't cheap out on your eyewear. If it fail, your day is over and your eyes could also be FUBARed.

If your fields allow it, I suggest ESS ICE ballistic glasses. It won't fog, never. I've been playing exclusively with this since 2004 and never had any problem.

I've used the Dye i4 since release with no fogging issues.

I just bought a JT Spectra yesterday. Haven't have a chance to try it on a game day yet.
I try on both Flex8 and Spectra in the store, the flex8 is more tight fit. I'm wearing glasses, i feel the Spectra is more comfortable for me. : )

Big +1 to the ESS ICE glasses not a problem at all with fogging with them. Like fog will come in extreme situation but goes away in a matter of seconds.

I've been using either my Oakley SI Flak Jackets or my Issued (Revision) BEWs.
Sometimes I'll use my ESS Profile NVG Goggles...

Both of them are compatible with Rx. Gets a little time getting used to, and will require, nonethless, some fog-tech on a very warm day.

Cheaper alternative: http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/marui-pro...th-fan-rg.html -- Removable faceplate, fan (much noisier than the Revision one, but still not too noisy) Will fog on a warm day, but if you remove the faceplate, it's better.

Ess will do fine in Field games, great protection. I have a back up lens, but still have not got any dents in the first one yet.
Keep in mind ESS is a sealed goggle, get ready to fog.
But in my longest 45 min game under 32 degrees last week. It did not fog too much, that could hinder my performance.
