What groupings are you getting?

I'm interested in figuring out what groupings people are getting, in part to figure out which upgrades give the best results in accuracy and to see how my gun compares accuracy wise.

I'm running a 509mm Prometheus tightbore, Guarder clear hop up rubber, Shredder's concave spacer and I'm shooting 400 fps.

I can only really shoot targets in my house, so I'm getting about 1" at 10m. Is this what would be expected?

it's a bit wide isn't it?
10m is too short though, you need at least 30m to be able to see how the hop-up fares

I'm not taking part in that challenge, mine is really not that precise... I am ordering my TM L96-AWS today, should be here within a month... I'll test this gun when I get it!

At 10m even my pistols are as tight or tighter than 1"

1" grouping at 10m is a bit wide for an upgraded rifle with that length barrel. Were you shooting freehand or on a rest?

My non-upgraded SCAR shoots 1" groupings at 10m, and it has a 275mm barrel. This is on a bench rest, and through a holoscope (no magnification). With your mods, you should be shooting sub 1/2" at that range.

At a mere 10 meters, I would accept nothing more than a ragged hole. I test at 30 and 60 meters.

what bb weight do you use?

with a tightbore + SCS @ 400Fps I would recommend a minimum weight of .28g.

I actually experienced poor grouping and poor range when I tried to use .20g on a setup similar as yours (wind free range)

I really don't know why my accuracy is so wonky. To be honest that's why I posted lol. I was shooting prone, and with a telescopic sight to make sure I wasn't a factor in this. I tested with .2 and .28, didn't seem to make much of a dif.

I don't really have more than 10m of indoor space to shoot in haha...

Put your gun on a folded shirt on a table to shoot. That way you minimize its movement. Then try again. 1" at 10 m is pretty bad. I think it has more to do with you moving that the accuracy of the gun.

Same result

What kind of gun is this?

pestobanana August 29th, 2011 18:51

Upgraded CA G36

Windows August 29th, 2011 18:58

I have a CA 36c that's been modified to the full length. I'm using a Deepfire SS 6.02 inner with Promethius hop up rubber and H type Bucking. 1" grouping at 80' with metaltech .25. Check your air seal.

Armoredshell August 29th, 2011 19:06

At 35m with a 300mm (6.03) barrel I was getting groups within a 8 x10 target with the same up grades you have except I also installed a kings arm hop up, what kind of groups where you getting before you upgraded?

Windows August 29th, 2011 19:13

Back when it was a "C" length it would do about 12" groupings at 80" with a tight bore. When I made the gun longer, I replaced the tight bore with the one mentioned above, and also changed the cylinder. To an non ported Modify one, and switched the bushings for bearings. This tightened it only a little to about 10" groupings. Cleaning the barrel, switching the awfull CA stock rubber and nub immediately tightened it up to 4" and switching from madbull to metal tech got me to a 1 inch grouping.(shot a friend's silencer at 50' on the first shot last game. Should have seen the look on his face)
