Echo1 - A.S.R. - Sniper Rifle

Hi guys; I recently bought an Echo1 A.S.R. Sniper Rifle, and I was just wondering if anyone knows if this airsoft gun is based on a "real steel" gun, or is it just something that the airsoft manufacturers have invented?

It's a pretty cool gun, and so far I like it a lot.

I have tried googling A.S.R. and I can't find any referece to a real steel rifle that looks anything like this gun.

Please let me know if you know who makes this gun and what it is called in the real steel world.

Thanks in advance

Gord

Looks a bit like a Remington 700 action in a chassis system to me. Reminds me a bit of the Savage 110 BA series.

Echo1 cloned it off of Maruzen. Echo1 usually remanufactures/refits their products.

Its a made up gun.

So is Maurzen's A.S.R. (Advanced System Rifle) based on a "real" Fire Arm? If so which make and model?

It has a grip and butt stock from a M4 carbine, so I was thinking maybe it's a Colt product, but so far I haven't found any info supporting that?

Its a made up gun, lol. I said that in the previous post.

Maruzen had a 'practical rifle' in mind for players that could be modified exactly to players tastes and this thing came to be. Ranging from stocks and grips to an ambidextrious bolt. A shorter length as well if that isn't evident enough from the pic.

Personally, I think it looks like ass, but thats just me. I like traditional rifles.

Ah sorry Strelok, I missed your second sentence. ;)

As far as the gun looking like ass, whats wrong with Ass? I like Asses! (except for those nasty late night Walmart chicks Asses, they're nasty!) LOL

Anyway I know that it's not a high end gun, and the lots of folks seam to like to hate on Echo1, but for $200.00 bucks I think that it is a decent platform to start out with.

In the past I have owned a Wells - L96 and a Real Sword - Dragunov SVD and I have to say that they all had their good and bad points.

The best thing about the A.S.R. is that it weighs about half as much as the L96, and about 1/10th as much as the SVD.

I also like that fact that it is shorter than both those other guns. It sure makes moving it around easier.

I haven't done any shooting over about 75 feet yet, so I can't comment on long distance accuracy, but at short distances, it seems about as accurate as the other sniper riffles that I have owned.

Thanks for the replies

Gordo
