KWA MP7 Questions
 

Good day,

I have a KWA MP7 with a swollen hop-up rubber (first KWA/KSC and I over lubed it, I will probably be using graphite from now on to avoid this issue). I have a bucking on order and I also would like to install a NPAS kit in it. I would like to do this myself and I was wondering if anybody here knows how to acess the inner barrel on the MP7. I am onliy really farmilliar to AR AEGs.

Don't quote me on this, but from what I understand all of the internals can be removed from the back of the gun. I'll tinker with mine tonight and see whats up.

It strips just like the real thing to start at least.

Watch the push pins on the rear cover, line up the spring on them with the notch on the receiver or they'll jam in and you'll be sad.

So push pins out, stock off, bolt carrier group out the back, and then the fun begins.

You have to remove the selector and bolt hold open switches, then push out the trigger pin and remove the trigger. Be gentle with the trigger because that spring is easy to tweak and it's the hardest part of this whole deal.

Then unscrew the flash hider and the barrel group will slide out to the rear.

If your stomach is starting to hurt right about now then it just gets worse with some more push pins, tiny set screws and parts that fit in upside down but won't work that way. If it's not hurting then carry on.

It's honestly not that hard and I did mine without any formal guide, just by looking at it and saying "well this has to come out before that will move" and so on. I found it easier than a mechbox.

Ok. it doesn't seem too bad. I am lacking the tools but it seems like there isnt a whole lot to get the barrel out. my flashhider is really stuck on. Do I turn it CW or CCW to get it off?

CCW. Use a box wrench to remove the first time, and then don't white knuckle it back on.

mhm ok, all i have are piers so ill do my best...i live in a dorm and dont have much for tools. I may end up having to get a friend to do this for me.

is there a princess auto in kingston? dirt cheap tools that will more than easily fill your tool void. Can't say how valuable a full hex and torx driver set can be.

Go to Canadian Tire/Home Depot/Rona/HomeHardware and get the following:
1. Small tool box
2. Screw driver with interchangeable hex bit heads...really all you need (in general) are some +, - and smaller torx bits.
3. A metric and imperial Allen key/Hex key set...you'll want some pretty tiny ones for the side screws that holds the nozzle retaining plate on. For airsoft you'll use the 1.5mm to 4mm more than any others. Dunno about you...but I've never been able to find the little tiny ones without buying a set.
4. Small hammer...you don't need a framing hammer or anything like that...just a little hobby hammer
5. smallish needle nose pliers

...nice to haves when you're starting out
- punch set...NOT a set nail sets...but pin punches
- plastic/rubber hammer
- micro screw driver set...both + and -
- valve key
- assortment of o-rings/little screws/etc..

Don't get sucked into buying the cheap tool "kits" (i.e. black plastic toolcraft or something). The tools/bits/pieces in them are just lousy. Better off to have a couple of good tools than a bucket full of crap.
