WE M14 EBR long barrel vs short barrel

I tried to search to see if this has been done yet but i could not find it. If someone has done it please be gentle and just point me in the right direction. I am thinking about a WE M14 EBR and now I find out there is long and short barrel. Does anyone have an opinion on which to get and why.
thanks

I believe RA Tech has a short barrel kit for the m14 and i think it will fit the ebr, cant see why it wouldn't. With the kit you could have both. A longer barrel has more corrected flight time and therefore should have better accuracy, but you trade off the extra mobility by having 4-6 inches more barrel sticking out the end. I love the m14 ebr too so i hope you do get one ;)

the longer barrel = more accuracy/range thing is debated alot ... one thing the longer barrel will do performance wise is raise the FPS ... quite a bit on the WE

Airsoft is essentially a musket ball
The longer the musket rifle the more accurate/better range. I realize it is not the exact same as airsoft but the principle is the same. I dont see how a longer/tight barrel won't result in better range.

ya the range is something to consider but so is the weight and length. its already a heavy gun. but the most important part is which look better. well not the most important but something to consider. i just think they are an awsome looking outfit and i need to burn some calories so no better way then draggin that around the woods

Definitely a heavy gun. Long barrel is sexy with a bump up in fps, but is bulkier and heavier. Accuracy wise... well, with the nice increase in fps, you can use heavier BB's which is better for accuracy and consistency whilst maintaining similar range when compared to the shorter barrel with lighter BBs.

It's a trade off. Shorter barrel is a bit lighter and more maneuverable. It's amazing what a few inches off the length can do for you.

I stayed with the long barrel. If I wanted light and maneuverable, I'd use my MP9.

Huh. That's definetly the first EBR I've ever seen that didn't make me puke. It actually looks pretty decent. Almost approaching 'bad ass' level.

That massive scope wouldnt help your weight either haha.
But nice looking rifle.
