You could use heavier BB's (.30) and a 6.03 tightbore to prevent even more air loss when shooting. Also if that doesn't work out, try a M120 spring with .25 BBs.

Better Piston Head, Cylinder head and Nozzle with oring, and tight bore as mentioned. Couple that with heavier bb's, .28 or .30 depending on FPS. That will help both in extra range, and tighter groupings.

i dont know much about the difference with bb weight. but my gun right now is shooting 355-360. if i use .20s shouldnt i be getting more range?

There is a difference between range and effective range. Your gun might be able to lob a .20 out pretty far, but the % that you can do so accurately, goes down.

soo .30 less range but tighter grouping?

Depends on your set up. With a tightbore, you get more air behind the bb, which adds range. Whereas if you put .30 through a stock gun, you will loose range, but yes, gain much tighter groupings.

I find .28 to be the happy medium through an M4/M16.

@SMD, where are you located? That would help us steer you towards a local group in your area, where there is most likely a number of people willing to help you in person. Also we can point you towards an AV rep.

Nobody mentions the bucking?

Damn good advice here...

Heavier BBs period! Once I set my M24 rifle to shoot at 340fps (purpose of being able to use it at a paintball field, urban area), and found that 0.30g BBs would sail out past 300ft (mind you, about a 6ft grouping), but still, I had never seen that type of range out of it even when I was shooting ~500fps......

Another time, I could clear 200ft with my MP5-A5, was shooting about 360fps w/.20g, using 0.28g BBs.

Nutshell, heavier BBs (to a point) will give you much farther accurate range than lighter ones. Best and cheapest upgrades to do to any airsoft gun (including pistols), is to use 0.28g to 0.36g BBs, and tweak your hop up and aiming style to those. Yes, they may fly a bit slower, but they will punch through brush easily as well as give you more range. Nothing is funnier than a guy shooting an upgraded AEG at you from 100ft away, through a bush, and seeing his 0.20g BBs bouncing all over the place from the bush, and getting pissed because he can't hit you, even though you aren't moving.

R-hop.

i dont know much about vfcs but the best bang for your buck is a better hop up setup. they increase airseal and give better spin to your bb increasing distance. this of course does require a lil gun know how but should be a easy job

I've developed a personal theory (that I'm guessing a lot of you more experienced guys here share) that this little interaction Stalker is describing above is the source of a lot of misguided "you don't call your hits" accusations...

I don't think so, because most of the "You don't call your hits" I see happens in plain sight with clear sound of BBs hitting the player.

+1 for R hop. Especially if you have the patience and time to properly tune it.
