Cyma rpk vs a&k mk46

Hi

I m looking to get either a new cyma rpk or a&k mk46. Mechanic wise, which one would you go for? Planning on running at 400 fps with 9.6v.

Thanks

I personally own the Echo1/Cyma RPK. It's an absolutely fantastic piece. The stock hi-cap it comes with is pretty crappy, my spring broke pretty quickly, but anRPK looks best with a drum anyway. I can't speak for the MK46, but I've heard the hop-ups are terrible.

Also, the RPK is MUCH lighter and more manoeuvrable. It's a bit long, but I'm 6'4" so I don't mind :P

You've got my vote for the RPK as well. I got the Echo1 (Which is a cyma rebrand with a madbull hopup installed.)

Its as accurate as can be, has a satisfying rate of fire and the battery it comes with is actually really nice. Mine is, at least.

If you haven't seen/held the MK43....do so before plunking down any money. The ones I saw were sh*t. The front sight was pined crooked on the barrel, the charging handle felt pre-broken. Aside from that the body is the typical A&K soft-ish metal...looks the part, but don't carry it by the handle, don't drop it on the bipod, etc... Their mechboxes tend to be really so-so inside.....at least the 249's were. Reminded me of CYMA mechboxes.

I was told by a buddy that they're all like that out of the box.

The A&K M60 was actually not bad...different build level kind of.

That said...I'm very tempted to get a MK43...based on price. But I'd be committed to fixing the sight, stripping off all the breakable bits and redoing the internals. :)

I thought the cyma dis not take drum mags?
Which one do you use?

Strelok March 22nd, 2012 18:28

I use a cyma drum magazine, lol.

Yeeeeesssss... Yess.

More RPKs.

Are there any good AK to RPK front-end kits out there or am I better off just buying a damn RPK?

Strelok March 22nd, 2012 18:55

Well depends. LCT makes a good RPK47 front set, I think Airsoftparts stocks them. Kinda pricey.

But I got the Cyma RPK74, which is the more pretty looking out of the whole lot. Its worth the money too, aside from the front sight its a very freakin' solid gun.

I guess i was misinformed about the drum mags

Would a 650 mm tb fit with a ak 74 type flash hidder?

LCT has a RPK barrel extension, just provide a TM based Ak. Note the Fatter CYMA AK-47 steel barrels do not work with the LCT kit.

SRC has a similar kit.

There is a ACM kit that provides a one piece steel barrel and bipod, but they are hard to get.

I guess these days it's not quite worth it to build a RPK as oppose to buying one. After Buying the Front end, RPK 1000m adjustable rear sight,RPK woodkit, plus the time and effort to sand, and refinish a woodkit you can Buy a new RPK.

The CYMA RPKs are nice, be aware of the Potmetal bipod, but a correct RPK receiver and one piece barrel is a plus.

I have the mk43. Its not ALL bad haha. The front sight is always crooked yes, but its the outer barrel that is actually crooked. Mosfet in them is useless IMO. Ammo box feeds great and is powered off the guns battery which I like. Hop up is CRAP but any m60/mk43/m249 normally are. Modded it and I am quite happy with how the gun shoots. Got tons of kills last time I used it. Internals are medium of course but in no way horrible.

For those who have the cyma rpk, is it possible to screw a different flashhider on it?
