KJW mags leaks
 

Not sure if this is the right spot for this thread so if not please forgive me but can anyone tell me if they have had problems with KJW mags leaking? just recently i had 3 out of 4 new mags leak on my gas 1911. does anyone know if this is bad luck or a cronic issue with the KJW?

Sun shines, rain falls, KJW mags leak. That's pretty much how it is.

Look up some guides on how to take apart and lube a Marui/KJW/WE 1911 magazine. Usually just oiling the o-rings fixes the issue, although I've had varied results with different brand mags. I've had leaking Marui mags sit empty for months and still seal up nicely after the o-rings are doused in silicon oil, whereas no amount of oil could fix the leaky base o-ring of a WE M9 mag that I had left empty overnight.

For all my KJW pistol mags that started to leak which is almost all of them but 2 so far I've followed this guide.

So far no more leaky mags. If you do it properly you'll be happy like me. Just make sure you "REALLY" read the guide before attempting.

I own a KJ 1911 MEU and an M4, both have had the mags leak. When they start to leak I just take them apart and seal then using a silicon gel that hardens to form a more or less permanent seal. It might be hard to take the mags apart if I had to... but if they don't leak, why would you have to take them apart? ; P

That silicon gel stuff is pain the butt if you screw up and if mag still leaks. Had a guy who did just that worked on 1 mag, 2 other mag failed.... was a pain getting it apart again and cleaning up that hardened gel then I redo the seal with the guide I mention above. Easier fix.

I swear by the blue gasket maker method. Just remember the golden rule. LEAVE IT ALONE! Once you finish sealing it leave it for at least 24 hours to cure. I like to leave it in the hot car when its summer so it fully cures and bakes. I did that for some shitty WE G36 mags and they were blistering hot when I pulled them out of my glove box.

I love KSC mags they seem to be pretty good when it comes to storing them dry.

KJW mags are notoriously leaky. I hate them for making such poor mags. You may be able to try TM mags with your KJW. They fit my p226 if you get fed up. You could try giving a silicone bath to the oring overnight then maintain the mag with gas/silicone. Teflon tape is an option as well. Finally use gasket maker which you can get at Canadian Tire to seal it and let it cure. Your mag should be good to go. Hope that helps.
