Kjw 1911 meu

Just some questions, as I seemed to be unable to properly search for aftermarket parts for this GBB. Mostly, I'm looking at replacing the externals rather than the internals.

Also, does anyone know if the metal slide is made of cheap potbelly or aluminum? I was planning on Chrome plating it once I get my hands on this GBB, but I'll refrain from it if it's made of cheap metal.

You probably want to look for aftermarket parts designed for the Tokyo Marui 1911 MEU, KJW MEU is a clone of the TM gun.

And AFAIK the slide is pot metal. You can probably find an aluminum slide by shooter's design that will work well your KJW.

Also, rather than chrome plating it just sand and polish the slide to get a mirror like finish on it. There are tons of tutorials to help you accomplish this. And you can do it to the stock KJW slide.

Dont sand to remove the bulk of the paint. Doing so you may round off edges and corners on the gun. Best way to do it is strip the paint first with some paint stripper. Then use a very fine grit paper to remove any paint that may be left over. After that take some mother's polish and finish the slide to a mirror finish.
