Safariland holster not fitting

I went to RH Nicholls today to test fit a holster for my KJW full metal Sig P226.

They had a right handed Safariland ALS holster that said it fit the Sig P226 with a 4.41" barrel (Model 6378-77-411)

The guy there let me test fit the holster with my 226 in the changing room and....no luck. I backed off the retention screw to the point of it spinning freely and still nothing.

I tried a different holster from Safariland but this time it was the SLS version and the same thing happened except this time the gun stuck out so much the SLS would not even clear the back of the slide and hammer.

Any ideas on the problem? I even measured the gun and it is 4.41"

Thanks.

airsoft doesn't have the same dimensions.... I have the same issue with a hogue grip and my kwa 226... it didn't fit.. and no amount of dremelling could make it fit.. the kwa is slightly wider in some parts... just like your kjw is not exact to real steel. Probably only by a mm here, half a mm there.

I picked up a blackhawk serpa for my 226... I've seen other guys run marui/kjw 226s in serpas, but I don't recall seeing anyone running one in a safariland.

Quick fact:
Tokyo Marui guns (and its clone, SS, WE, KJW) are spec bigger than RS (except 5-7, XDM, PX4 AFAIK)
KSC/KWA guns are RS spec so any inject mold holster will work.

I don't know if you read my post a couple of days ago...

If you want the high speed setup, go for the 6004 SLS.

I do not like the upper shield and have removed them on previous holsters. Also make sure not to get the model with the thumb push button (after the regular thumb shield), as it can add precious time to a draw.

The regular thumb shield is excellent.

Best bet is to go to a store that sells Safariland and check them out in person (regardless of the pistol model) to check the styles out, and then order the same style for your model gun. http://www.rnicholls.com/ stocks Safariland in Toronto and has a storefront. Call them to ensure they have the holsters in stock for viewing.

EDIT: Lastly, depending on your brand of gun, you may have fitment issues with Safariland. I didn't have a problem with my TM 1911 in a 6004... but my TM 226E2 was tight. I had to remove the retention screw in the holster entirely. I like my 6004 to be completely loose without the shield in place, and it was hard to get the P226 to sit like that.

I had to use a hairdryer to soften up my 6285 (6004 Belt Mounted) and then cram my M9 into it for about an hour before it would draw smoothly. Works like a dream now.
