Replica Elcan Rubber Sleeve
 

Hello everyone,

I have this exact scope from airsoftdepot.ca:

Does anyone know how to remove the rubber sleeve without cutting or tearing it so I can spray paint it? I can't really seem to find a way to take it off without feeling like I'm going to rip it.

Any help is much appreciated!

I'm not sure about taking off the rubber...but if you mask everything else off really well you shouldn't have any worries about painting anything but the rubber.

If it's anything like the real ones, turn it over, unscrew the two scews in the base, remove the base/mount from the optic itself and take the cover off it.

When I sprayed mine, I simply left the cover in place and masked all the other parts of the scope.

BTW, I have the other version Huang sells, the one with the Elcan trade marks. How do you like that scope of yours? The one with trades is out of stock, so I've been looking at getting one like yours instead. What does the reticle look like in your scope?

Yeah I've taken the actual scope off the mount but it seems as though I'll have to mask it like everyone is saying


I actually really like this scope, clarity is awesome. Although if you're really looking into detail, the QD knobs are round and there's no Elcan trade.

The reticule is exactly what the real C97 Elcan is (I should know since I'm a reservist :P)

Good stuff. I can live without trades, but the reticle needs to be realistic. If the trades version doesn't come back into stock, this could become my plan B.
