Will a weaker spring really increase Rof?

So I did a little research and some think it will increase it, some not so much. I will see for my self when i get my m90 spring and install it. I don't expect much of a difference, logically it should a bit. Its not that I'm trying to increase it or anything, just wondering what your opinions are. Thanks.

A lighter spring will be less work for the motor to pull, so I would also assume that translates into a higher rate of fire.

Holy crap. That location description!

yes. and by quite a bit if you're dropping 80fps

Yes. Motor will cycle faster, work less and increase ROF with lighter spring

Beware of having too low power of a spring though. If you have speed gears and a speed motor you may actually "catch" the spring/piston returning forward with the teeth from your sector gear because it spins too fast. However everything else being stock it's no problem (stock TM with stock 16:1 gears and whatever stock motor they have runs fine at 270 FPS).

Going with a weaker spring will increase the ROF. Don't go installing a really high torque motor with a big ass lipo after. This will cause major over spin, and you could have the piston catch the sector gear wrong and strip the teethes out.
