40mm Grenade parts
 

I have a bunch of Spartan Doctrine and King Arms 40MM granades, and I am trying to source bulk parts for them.

When they are assembled right, they work surprisingly well, but they seem to eat O-rings like no tomorrow when using higher pressures when using co2

The 2 grenades are built almost identical the only major differences is the Oring and the pins on pressure release valve. The Spartan Doctrine ones us a 3mm by 6mm (i think) pin with rounded ends for there pins, were as the King Arms use 2x 3mm ball bearings (that are a pain in the ass to keep in). I am trying to locate any place that might sell the 3mm x 6mm pins, as they stay in better, and are easier to work with. If I have to get them custom made, anyone know a place that does type of work?

Next up on my list is O-rings, Every type of O-ring I try doesn't seem to fit properly, I suspect I'm not buying the right style. I have tried using the exact same size as the ones that are on them now, but when I go to assemble them they seem to be to large, and roll off. I have also tried smaller ones, and then stretching them, but then they seem too fat (even know they have the same diameter as the stock ones). Has anyone found a replacement that works


I can post pictures of what I am talking about (the pins and the orings) when I get home from work tonight if that will help.

Have you tried buying an assorted pack from Princess Auto or Canadian Tire? I have one that has hundreds of orings in all different sizes, organized into stacks of the same size inside a plastic box.

Well without knowing where you are located it's hard to direct you to a place. There is a good supplier on henri bourassa that has a retail counter but if you are located in vancouver it does not help you mutch

Matt, go to Strictly Hydraulics on Trider Ct. in Burnside. They have a guy upstairs, knows everything about orings and has every size oring that you could imagine.

Acklands Grainger's catalog has a good selection too that you can order by size, OD, ID and material. If you go through that, they're like $.04 to $.08 per shot and you can find what you want.

Once you do, order a bunch.

Thanks very much for the suggestion about Acklands Grainger. I've been looking for a supplier of odd sized O-rings and thought I was out of luck after investigating the usual sources in Kingston (Princess Auto, plumbing shops). I will visit A-G this week and see what they carry for metric O-rings.
