Moving to BC

So I'm planning to move to Abbotsford in the next couple months, as I got offered a job in the Vancouver area. I currently live in Ontario, so I was wondering if anyone could point me towards any retailers and/or fields in the surrounding areas? And yes, I'm working on getting age verified at the moment.

No, we cannot point you in the direction of retailers until your AV'ed. ASC rules my friend.

PM LA7ency, he can advise you on that community of airsoft.

Alright, thanks.

Why Abbotsford?
You can get AV'd out here at a store in Richmond or at a game in south surrey at panther paintball. If you don't before the move.
Op-for forums have all the info on local games and all that. There's a link in the community drop down menu at the top of this page.

So.... Vancouver proper or somewhere else in the GVRD?

TBH I'd recommend some of the new housing/suburb developments in the Surrey area if anything. It's closer to Van, relatively cheap, and actually not bad for crime and whatnot.

Also, main field is Panther Paintball in Surrey or BigFoot Games in Mission. Bigfoot is a bit of a smaller field and I haven't played there (since Surrey is closer for me) but apparently it's supposed to be pretty good.

It's a bit of a trek to get AV'ed especially coming from Abby but there's 2 AV reps in Richmond (Kampfer and Optix) and one in Burnaby (White_Knight).

Occasionally games are played at other venues such as Tsawwassen Paintball, RIP (Richmond Indoor Paintball), and NSPB (North Shore Paintball). As well I have heard of another field that might have games there as well but I don't know too much about it I think it's called Ambush Paintball.

Both Op-for and BCAC airsoft clubs both play at Panther which is only 20 minutes from Abbotsford and ASG games are held at Ambush paintball in Surrey which is about a half hour from Abby. The drive to Richmond to get AVed will take you just over an hour.

Sign up on the Op-for and ASG forums and I hope to shoot at you soon.

Yes, ASG plays at Ambush Paintball because Tswwassen Paintball has closed down since the 8th :( Ambush looks pretty neat though, haven't been there yet, but I'm excited for the warmer seasons.

Thanks for all the replies :D I'm moving to Abbotsford because my brother offered me a job there, And I've always wanted to live out there, so it seemed like a great opportunity. Honestly, I have about $30 to my name right now, and this job is better than anything I could ever get out here. And I'm meeting with sarosh tomorrow to get AV'd, so no worries about that.

I realized that I may have caused some confusion. I will be living with my brother in Abbotsford, and working for Badger Daylighting, which is based in Vancouver.

Then for the love of the gods save up some money and move into Vancouver city. The commute from Abbotsford to Vancouver is soul sucking drudgery and if you want to meet tons of non mutant females rent a small apartment in the city so you don't need a car.

Tex December 21st, 2012 15:02

I no longer need to do that trip but I disagree. I hated living in Vancouver it is also much much cheaper out here or anywhere other than the city really. There are many good places to live in the lower mainland that still give you easy access to everything downtown has to offer without paying the premium.

And if you can taking the Westcoast express train to work makes it easier too.

Commuting means time, a vehicle, and big bucks for gas, tolls, and insurance.

Abbotsford is huge, and so is lower mainland.

Narrow down the locations of A to B.

Maybe it's just a short hop, or maybe it's 3 hour tour each way.
