Next best thing to an ops-core Fast Ballistic

I'm not sure if I want to pull out $800+ on a helmet just yet. I see AirsoftDepot has a more expensive kind and a cheaper kind, whats the difference? What would you recommend? I do want a fast ballistic though, thanks.

From what I have seen between the two (premium and basic) the more expensive premium one is worth it. It seems to have better build quality and finishing with more heft. The outer shell is a thicker fiberglass material instead of the injection molded plastic shell which makes it feel closer to a real ballistic helmet.

I know a few people have had issues with the size of some helmets because they were designed for the Asian market but I don't know if Huang's have this problem. You could always call and ask about the sizing and I'm sure he could help. When we start talking about price though $120 is already half of a Fast Base Jump which is leaps and bounds better in terms of quality, but if it really is a Ballistic you want it's either that or upwards of at least $800 for a real one.

Edit: I just checked and the sizing is listed for the premium helmet. It also uses the premium pad set.

Even the premium helmets are small sized. Their M/L is no where near a North American M/L.

The ballistic is expensive why not get the base jump and fill in the holes like Conker did.

I just hate the look of the shroud on the base and how it's molded into the helmet.

(Waiting for Conker or Hitman to appear)

Both of them have real base jumps which they modded to look ballistic. They filled the holes and dremeled the molded shroud and filled and sanded to flush. Not sure if there's a thread on it. But if I recall correctly Conker said in hindsight he might have just gotten a repro ballistic instead because all the work that was done to remove the molded shroud, he felt it sort of compromised the helmets integrity.

I've got one of the premiums and I think it was worth it. Although, I haven't had any other to compare it to.

If someone does have a modded base jump, could you upload some pictures and how you did it. Also not a fan of the shroud. Im 6'3", little over 200lb and according to the ops-core website and my head measurement I'd need an L/XL. I've had it up to here with buying Chinese replica gear and not having it fit and work properly.

Just get a base jump and a first spear cover...

Correct. For airsoft it does its job, but while I could've done climbing, skiing, etc with the Basejump in its original form... I wouldn't with the modded Basejump. Back when I did that mod, however, there weren't any repros on the market.

It does a great job as far as the look goes though.

It's pretty much impossible to tell it was a Basejump, except for the thickness of the shell versus a Kevlar one.

Yeah that looks really great
