Anyone know Freak aka Jim

Does anyone personally know ASC user "Freak"?

I entered into a transaction with him at the end of November. My last PM response from him was December 5th after he had been ill.

I have no response to PMs or emails since then.

If anyone knows Jim personally can they check and see if he is ok?

User: Freak
Name: Jim
Location: Barrie, ON

Thanks.

His last activity on ASC was january 24th.

If your transaction isn't completed, he may be ignoring you.

just saying.

Do you know Jim and are suggesting this might be something he would do, or is that general speculation?

I have been informed previously that his "last activity" stats are not accurate as a) ASC is the home page set in his browser and b) his wife and children use the computer as well so if they open the browser that will make it appear that he has accessed ASC himself.

Still looking for anyone that knows Jim.

Are you suggesting that Freak allows minors to access the asc av sections?

Is there a smiley missing there? :)

I suppose that is an unintended consequence...

Someone has also received (not necessarily read) my PMs to him (via read receipt) of Dec 4th (received on Feb 4th) and Dec 28th (received yesterday), but I couldn't say who.

It's all very mysterious.

I remain hopeful that I will get back in touch with him. At this point I am more concerned as to his well being than anything else.

I've received a few promises to ship from either Jim or his girlfriend over the intervening months.

No actual package yet.

Occasionally my emails are met with responses like, "Things are so crazy here, will ship this weekend."

It's been over six months, but since he hasn't actually said, "I am keeping your money and not sending you anything." I'll just wait.

Because what else can I do? ;)

6 months is ridiculous. I'd get the admins involved to flex some e-muscle.

Jim hasn't logged in to ASC since February 18th - I don't think there is much the admins here can actually do about it.

I've appealed to Jim, I've appealed privately and publicly to those who may know him and I've gotten nowhere. (Apparently no one here actually sees Jim in daily life.)

I've given up and finally left a negative trader feedback - serious business. :p

I had considered posting photos of him and telling the tale of how little he sold his honor for, but I don't see how that results in getting either the item he sold me, or the money back.

Then get the police involved after 6 months its safe to assume your screwed out of your money or product. That would be fraud plain and simple.

Try tracking down his old teammates from team Black Bear maybe? They might be able to shed some light on what's going on with Jim. I've played with him years ago, that's something I wouldn't expect from the guy.

Nope, no one on his (old?) team is in contact with him.

I can only assume his life circumstances have changed drastically since you last saw him.

Instead of just jumping to this, it would be a better idea to take into consideration how large the transaction was. If you sent him money for a m100 spring, it would be a lot different than sending money for an AEG. If it's not a ton of money, write it off as a bad debt and move forward.

If, on the other hand, it's a significant sum of money then I'd figure out whether or not you have enough info to track him down. Small claims court may be an option if you've got a way to serve him and you deem it 'worth it'.

Fuck all of that. Fraudsters deserve every bit of negative recognition and prosecution they get.

Fraud is fraud and stealing is stealing.

Take 10 bucks here and there and it can amount to a good pile of money.

@ OP: Continue to harass him and get him to send you either the stuff or your money back.
