So it was recommended i should upgrade my JG m16s hop up rubber bucking. But i see alot of different choices for these parts. I also plan on picking up a promethues tightbore barrel aswell. But im not entirely sure of which one would be best for me. Right now im looking on ebay at the :

Lonex - Improved hopup bucking 70* Rubber
G&G Cold resistant hopup
Madbull - 60* Shark Blue
Madbul - 60* Shark Blue Normal

Talk to Jugglez @ airsoftparts.ca or Stealth @ airsoftstore.ca, both are members on this board and can provide solutions for your problems. They also have shops locally to save the hassle of ebay ordering.

Yeah ive already checked both those stores. They either dont have what i want, or its not in stock. And i see that the Prometheus barrels are alot cheaper from the states.

From that list, the Lonex one seems like it's the right choice. AirsoftStore and AirsoftParts both have it.

For the barrels, don't forget that anything crossing the border is subject to fees if the value is over a certain amount (50$ I think). Also, depending on who ships it, you might have other fees to pay. UPS In-house brokerage fee is notorious to be really high. Also, don't ever order anything with USPS cheapest options, you might never receive it. That 10$ you will save up front will be gone in the end.

I'd suggest contacting AirsoftParts stating you want the barrel, and they'll look it out for you. Click here.

Ok thanks for the help. And for the Prometheus barrel i plan to order it and send it to a mailbox place in Niagara Falls, NY so i wont have to pay an extra fees and whatnot.

Sorry and ive got one more question. My m16s barrel length says 510mm. And the store close to me has a 550mm. will it work with my JG m16?

That depends, does your barrel have 4cm (40mm) of clearance before it leaves your outer barrel? Otherwise it will stick out and your options are to cover it with a suppressor/flash hider, leave it as is, or have it cut and crowned by someone with a lathe and skill.

As an aside, and I'm not being judgmental, but putting a promy barrel in a JG is a bit like putting a racing exhaust on a 1990's firebird... Your money could be put in better places, like tuning your gearbox and hop up for more consistance air seal, stock barrels will do fine until those upgrades are done.

What you need is a 509
But you can put a 440 in an M16 without any problem too
I believe Airsoftparts.ca has ARS rubbers in stock that are awesome
And if anyone has a firefly, you should snag it

Hectic March 15th, 2013 16:45

Yiu could put a silencer or barrel extension tk hide extra length or you could just get the madbull 6.03 they are great barrels too and half the price.
You can get a lonex or guarder or madbull rubber as well here at airsoftparts.ca
http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...ort=20a&page=1
He has or should have the madbull tightbores as well dont get 6.01 get 6.03 the 01 will be more headache then its worth in an aeg.
And yes promy barrel is prolly the best but they cost half the price of yer gun you can get just as good results for half the price with the madbull 6.03 as for the rubber buy one each of the lonex types and see wbat works best for you. I like soft rubbers in the cold and hard ones when its warm (in a 400 fps setup with. .30 bbs. Yer results may varry depending on velocities and bb weights. Most folks use soft they will be able to hop just about any weight at any velocity in most tempratures

Ok thanks for the help once again hectic, and everyone else. I guess it would be wise just to save some money and grab the madbull. Ive only shot .20s in the gun so far, would using some .023s or .025s also be a good idea to pickup?

ThunderCactus March 15th, 2013 20:54

If you're around 380, use .28s
If you're between 330 and 375, use .25s

Hectic March 15th, 2013 21:24

Yeah heavy is better to an extent. The numbers Thunder Cactus said are right on par tho testing is always good. My mp5k and my m4 both shoot around 400 and with a madbull shark hop up in the mp5k and a prometheus straight rubber and bridge nub in the m4 i run. .30's with great results. 28's just get way over hopped. But 20's are for chrony and indoors if mandatory. 25-32 are best for range and accuracy so long as your hop up can impart enough spin to provide lift.

pestobanana March 15th, 2013 22:28

With Prometheus barrels I find Prometheus rubbers to work best, maybe because Prometheus barrels have a larger outer diametre than others. Also, many barrel spacers will not fit over a Prometheus barrel. I know Systema and VFC spacers work.

As for barrel length just stick to 509 with M16s, any longer and it will stick out. The only gun I know of where 550 is the perfect length is the CA/G&G M14.

AlexBisnett March 16th, 2013 14:31

So i took apart my reciever just to check out the inside, ive seen some videos where people can just pull out there hop up ad slide the barrel out really easily. i tried pulling on mine with some needle nose pliers and it seemed pretty snug in there. I put it all back together because i didnt want to damage anything. Whats the solution here?

pestobanana March 16th, 2013 14:41

On my old CA I just pulled harder and it came out, but maybe it'd be best to wait for someone with a JG to respond.
