KJW P226 Hammer/ Firing Problem
 

So today I was shooting my KJW P226 and suddenly pieces of metal started to fall out of the gun. Looking at my pistol, it seems that the metal bits were from the hammer assembly. The pistol seizes to function properly, as no gas is used when firing. Whats more interesting is that the hammer is stuck in the (half-cock position
I know... it sounds weird.) I decided to disassemble the gun. The valve knocker/ hammer that strikes the gas seems to be stuck. It is possible to make it unstuck, but when the hammer is pulled back or the pistol is racked into battery it becomes stuck again.




Is this a sign not to by pot metal gbb? BTW is a KSC Glock 19/17 for $200 a good price? I mean this is Canada.

A common problem on the TM and KJ Sigs is the gas hammer failing. I've fixed many of them. Is it the gas hammer? I can't really tell by the pictures.

I can tell its the hammer for the gas. It is out of place and stuck. Plus when I release the hammer it makes a short pffft sound as it goes into half-cocked position. Metal pieces were falling out of the inner hammer assembly.

Is there a way to fix this? I'm pretty new to airsoft and I don't know much on fixing gbbs. Like I said the hammer for the gas is stuck im not sure how to fix this internally or even make it unstuck.

the valve knocker failing is pretty common on KJ 226s. they're otherwise quite nice. it's likely the knocker itself, but a broken spring might also be the culprit.

you're looking for a shooter's design knocker (marui part p226-32). I picked one up when I got my KJ 226 but I haven't broken the stock one yet.

dunno, you'll probably have to order it from hong kong.

no idea how much they'll charge (cause I fix my own guns >_> ) but it probably wont be all that bad, unless everything else in the works is broken as well.

The two pegs on the valve knocker fell off. Thats why it was stuck.


Btw should I take the paint off my pistol? Its starting to wear off.

I wouldn't say that. A lot of people aren't good with fixing guns. Mostly because of all the little springs and parts and knowing how it goes together.

Well I might take it to ASG, Milsig or Trigger airsoft. Any reviews for those retailers? Feel free to suggest other retailers.
