Please Extremely Stuck Flash Hider Help!
 

So I just got a G&G GC16 m4 carbine, it is all metal with a metal flash hider. The flash hider has a roll pin which I drilled out it is so glued on I cannot figure out how to get it off! I have put in boiling water for 5-10 minutes not even a budge, I used a hair dryer to no avail, please someone help! The flash hider is now somewhat mangled but I could care less about that I just want to put my suppressor on! Please any advice welcome!

ok these two things may sound stupid...
did you check if theres a grub screw anywhere.
are you sure you're twisting it in the correct direction?

and as an absolute last resort... melt it off...

Ive seen people take a blowtorch to it and take them off...You know those blue ones you can get at Home Depot :D

Ive tried both directions but Im pretty sure its twist clockwise to get it off, and ya no grub just a roll pin but I drilled that out already. Apparently G&G is notorious for being a mother to get the flash hiders off. How would I melt it off?

Workshop Vise or second person to hold the gun solid
Blowtorch to melt the glue
Vise grips, chanellocks, ect,

As long as you have removed or FULLY drilled out the grub screw, youll get it off this way.

Just let it fully cool, and use a wire brush to clean the threads off before putting your silencer on.

It looks like I have fully drilled the pin but how can I make sure?

If/when you get the flashider to turn after using the torch on it first, it will bite as it turns instead of cleanly spinning off. The screw will basically tear all of your threading apart as you force it, you will know if this is still catching.

You should be able to get it with the torch.. but I recently picked up a gun from the classifieds and the delta ring on that baby was so damn tight nothing could move it.. it resulted in this:

Im past last resort if I had a dremel Id cut it off but for the price of one I may as well buy a new outer barrel lol

If you are that desperate you can use two small pipe wrenches. This WILL leave teeth marks on your outer barrel unless you use a rag and are very careful. And if the metal is really soft it can oval the barrel's diameter if you apply too much pressure. I've done it successfully on a we scar.

Torch from personal experience. CYMA is quite notorious for ridiculously tough to remove flash hiders as well. Boiled, viced, and blowdried my M14 and nothing. I used a torch (the blue ones from canadian tire) and it came off so easily it was ridiculous. It might be scary at first, but it won't damage your barrel unless you're roasting it for like 10minutes. Even then it might just char a little. :p

Funny, after removing the grub screw on the flashhider I am usually able to twist off by hand. same goes to you.
