G&G GR16 RUSH slow ROF
 

Hey guys, I recently purchased the G&G GR16 Rush, fully charged the 9.6V battery that came with it and as my friend and I were out shooting our guns (his is the G&G raider, same battery) I notice his ROF is double what mine is, and being his is a cheaper gun, and mine is meant for CQB I thought mine should be shooting just as fast.

I watched a video online reviewing the Rush, and they also use a 9.6V battery and the ROF is as fast as my friends Raider, as it should be, so my question is, why is my gun shooting at a slower ROF? I am going to try my friends battery in my gun, but if that doesn't work, what else should I check?

Did you try YOUR battery on HIS gun? Or vise versa? I know you said they are the same but yours could be on its way out. Try different batteries first.

I haven't tried it yet, I watched a vid after we were shooting, so I haven't had a chance to do that yet, as I said, I will try that, but if that doesn't do it, what else could it be? I'm just wondering if there is an adjustment or something I need to take a look at on the gun

You could try removing the fuse.

So it doesn't shoot?

I think he means BYPASSING the fuse, the fuse is only there to idiot proof the gun, take it out, and just dont sit there on the trigger if the gun happens to jam

How much difference in ROF are we talking about? For it to be noticeable, I assume it's at least 3-4 rps. Maybe it's a good idea to actually measure it using sound wave analysis just for the sake of it.

The way I see it, the major components that will affect ROF are motor, gearing, mosfet/wiring, and battery.

I'd just try the battery thing first and go from there.

Are the guns relatively untouched inside? If so, we could rule out gearing and mosfet/wiring. Maybe the next step is to swap the motors and try. We have to consider the possibility that the video review is wrong.

the battery comments are spot on. try different batteries in your gun. try YOUR battery in another gun too. eliminate the easy, more likely to happen variables first.

I'd also look at making sure all your wiring is completely intact, make sure that the motor is adjusted properly, then try bypassing the fuse, then try the gun with a different motor in it.

RoF is pretty much just the motor and the battery, so it's probably gonna be one of those two things.

It is quite a noticeable difference, both of these guns are bone stock, just got them about a week ago, I figured it would be the battery, I'll give that a shot

Batteries that come with guns generally aren't the best quality. Combine that with a crappy wall charger that has the ability to fry your battery and the fact that your gun is brand new the problem is most likely your battery/charger.

A programable smart charger would be a good investment to get the most out of your batteries.

The imax B6 charger would be worth looking into.

Actually that reminds me of something. The charger that comes with the gun, once the battery gets to full charge it switches to a trickle mod, is that considered a smart charger? or is that just a slightly fancier wall charger that I should just replace ASAP anyways?

The battery and charger that shipped with your gun are widely considered to be the lowest possible quality in the airsoft world.

You should replace both the battery and charger with something of higher quality.

Tried a different battery (which shoots normal in a different gun), it still shoots slow

Did you and your friend buy them from the same retailer?

We did, I'm going to take it back to them and see about replacement, maybe its a dud, or if there is some kind of adjustment that needs to be made.
