Advice on airsoft Mk 12 SPR
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...a/SPRCrane.jpg
I want to field a pretty vanilla Mk 12 SPR as above. I've been out of play for four years and I'm just getting out to games again. A lot has changed in regards to availability and manufacturers and it's fairly overwhelming. I'm just seeking basic brand advice / direction from experience on what model would service the following criteria: 1) Full AEG, not stand alone mod kit. 2) Mechanically sound, rare issues, etc. 3) Externally medium to high quality replica. Solidly built external. Any advice would be very much appreciated. I gave the forum a search and didn't see anything that was able to answer my query on two or three pages. |
You're probably looking at VFC if you want to run it out of the box like that. I don't think they have the tube style handguard like that, IIRC it was only available in quad rail form. However they do have the correct threaded flash hider for a SPR suppressor.
The only thing I can think of that's bad with VFC is maybe that sometimes their clear pistons are weak, other than that a solid build. BTW If you want to get back in I hear the EAR is doing a "noob day" next month (middle of May). |
Does it have to be a Mark 12 Mod 0 or would a Mod 1 work for you as well?
I was building a Mk12 Mod 1 project in the past winter, but end up build something with Mk12 pistol grip and everything else being different... |
This,

cc: I like the style of Mod 0. It's just preference.
Danke: Is that universal? |
Universal within reason.
The only other kit is the GBTech/VFC one and you'll be lucky to find one. |
Right, so what would you say is a "within reason" base? I'm feeling a G&G TR16 out.
For that matter, what about this Dboys model? WGC warns that it has poor metal finish, yet contradictory user reviews state it's "solid" and so on. I'd much rather start with what I want to see instead of putting together parts that may be problematic, but that wouldn't be new road either. Quality is the concern. http://www.wgcshop.com/WGC_Shop/imag...aeg_5381_l.jpg |
theres a Mk12 mod 0 for sale in the classifieds

Don't have a DBOY Mk12 myself, but I have a DBOY HK416. It is "solid" within the sense of cheap airsoft guns. The surface finishing is roughly on the same level. |

So that rules out dboys lol You might just have to get a VFC or G&G and just slap on some externals. |
CP: This is going to be a down the road project. Funds are currently unavailable. I am avoiding the classifieds to avoid heartbreak. :D
All right, so it looks like the only other Mod 0 that comes assembled is from A&K, then. I don't know them, besides they make OK lmgs. |
your best option is the MOD 1 that VFC makes. not sure if they made the MOD 0 but unless you are willing to go for the imo inferior ACM externals then by all means go for it. I know the Avalon (VFC) MK12 mod 1 is extremely well made with their externals. Avalon by my books make the nicest AEG externals on the market atm.
Best do a project gun, might cost u a pretty penny but yeah..... MOD 0 kit from CA or something would work i think with a VFC Body and fraken internals = win :P Rhop that shiz also and u got urself a nice DMR |
All right. All pretty decisive. Thanks, guys!

Yeah, go VFC and do a few add ons yourself. A&K equals moderate to good externals, and asploding internals.
