Red Dot zero sighting, help required
 

Hi every one
This is my first post on the site here although i've been following the forum for a while , well im a lil bit new to the sport so maybe some of you guys can help me spot the problem , I just Bought this scope
Its ACOG with red dot mounted on top

The scope is great and i could zero sight the Acog perfectly now the problem is with the red dot i tried to zero the red dot to find that i've reached the maximum elevation adjustment on the knob and i still need to bring it down another 5 cm ,
In another word : im sighting the dot at 20 m range , the barrel is aiming at the point of impact while the red dot is aiming about 5 to 10 cm above .
i found one review for this product on youtube and the guy was saying that he somehow managed to add some washers under the red dot mount so that he can tilt it to the front .
Have any of you guys ran into a similar problem where you ran out of elevation adjustment while u still not aiming at the target ? And what you guys suggest ?

The most likely reason why you are having issues zeroing is because the scope is a copy of a real steel scope, and most are sighted in a little further out than 20m.

I'd keep it the way it is, at 20m on a man sized target, you will be fine for accuracy, as long as it's correct for left to right.

You should check it for parallax even at 20m just in case the calibration is so far off, you will still miss a man size target at 20m.

Also consider hight over bore.
I this case, it's pretty extreme, so it's kinda normal to have a few cm of difference between the point of aim and point of impact at close range.

thank you guys for your response , i followed this one guy's review on the youtube and he mentioned that he used shims ( washer ) to lift the red dot scope 1mm which resulted in tiltng the red dot scope to the front giving me more slack to bring the dot down , now the dot and the acog cross hair are both aiming n the exact target .
