Sniper riffle advice
 

Just getting into purchancing one for a freind but dont know the difrence between em.

So my question is simple. What 5 would u guys recomend for a new player for reliability and easy to find parts for?

Biggest suggestion would be personal research. If I was you I would spend the next six weeks reading every tidbit of info on bolt action rifles here on asc. If you still have hair after that then start looking into buying a gun.

Tm vsr-10 or CA m24
The rest will give you aids.

If it's going to be your first bolt action then I think I would go TM over the CA. VSR10 is a lot lighter and shorter to wield around. As I'm sure you know the rifle is just the start, it's the guts that matter. Those can and usually do cost more than the rifle! I have both and I prefer the CA M24 it's rock solid, but freaking heavy and long with the silencer attached!

If you want to be able to even compete with aegs or gbbrs then you are going to be spending quite a bit on it. They are fun but you will quickly be out gunned. I haven't taken mine out once in the last 2 years. Sigh. Thanks for opening old wounds.

Poor Chaz!! It's not about how many kills you get, but how you get the kills! I hear ya though! I just hate "kids" that walk on the field and start spraying bb's everywhere!

Oh I run an AEG but almost never run full auto and when I do its in bursts of 2 or 3 rounds. There is zero skill in full auto mag dumps.
Back to the OP. Make sure your friend knows they are going to be out gunned a lot and it could discourage them. If they can stick with it, it CAN help improve your overall game.

Playing the sniper role is generally slower, more organized and thought out. It's easy to lose track of your teammates and end up stranded and outgunned. Awareness is key as well. It took me several attempts at sniping before I actually "got it". About an entire year. It's not uncommon for guys to get bolt action rifles that see a game or two and then spend their days in a closet.
I would recommend either a TM vsr or the JB bar 10. Both extremely similar and both need upgrades out of the box. The upgrade parts are common, and generally available in North America.

Thanks all. After reading up reviews i think my freind will enjoy the tm vsr-10. The only issue is me finding one. Ive searched google with no luck withing ontario. Anyone know where to get

Couple Canadian retailers have them in stock as well.

If you can not get local, look at some other sites around Canada. Trigger airsoft in Vancouver Richmond stock them, but not sure if in stock. And if ya end up getting it from across Canada, most likely ya get free shipping anyways since it cost over 300

I don't get why they are so over-priced here in Canada.

The price alone would make me run away. I would just build a DMR on a VFC platform :)
