M4 with GBLS Dynamic bolt action!

I am watching this bad boy. It is going to be more fun than a GBBR or any of the recoil types of AEG.

I imagine that's some decently high stresses running through that.
It'll need a strong spring to pull the entire bolt assembly instead of just a piston to get a decent fps, and that means a stronger motor. As well, to up the rof, that means high speed gears, which needs high-quality and durable internal parts, which if they aren't present, I see lots of broken proprietary parts, and we all know how much fun that is...
But if they do a good job, that'll be a really nice alternative to standard AEGs.
Wonder how much it'll cost.

The bolt is a cosmetic shell made of plastic or thin alum uses little energy to pull back. 99% of the work on the motor is the spring. The bolt just rides with the spring.

I'm confused.

There is teeth at the bottom of the bolt, and the gearbox uses the ICS bottom-half design gearbox design. It pulls the bolt back but I don't see anywhere in the video where there is space for it to retract backwards towards the buffer tube. It looks like the whole bolt is a piston in itself and the cylinder is nowhere to be found so I have no clue where the compression starts and ends to propel the BB.

As a frequently moving part, I have a feeling that they made a smart choice putting a metal delta-ring esque looking part at the front to cushion the impact, but I have no idea why they would make the bolt plastic since the vibration might f- it up.

It also appears to use a proprietary feeding chamber; the bb is exposed and the hop up is ????

Looks innovative to say the least. No more V2 GB failures?

SuperHog December 8th, 2015 10:23

It is similar to a bolt action sniper. The bolt pulls the spring back and a sear holds the piston back while the bolt move forward to chamber a bb. Once the pull trigger, the sear releases the piston.

Skeletor December 8th, 2015 11:20

The bolt is probably plastic to increase battery life. I would bet there will be an aftermarket metal/steel bolt to add more recoil but at the cost of battery life.

This looks like it could truly be the next gen of airsoft guns rather than recoil shock AEGs. I hope this is a big success and they start making other models. I'm not even really a big fan of M4s but I might consider picking one up just to support the company.

If there is ever any information on release/price, that is.

Seemes it works similar to a gbbr, only difference is instead of the gas being routed through the bolt the bolt houses the piston and cylinder. I'd venture a guess that drawing the bolt back locks the piston. Pulling the trigger releases it and then redraws the spring so it'll be super quiet until it's too late. As opposed to hearing gearbox wind up then pop and bb flying it'll be a pop then the cycle. Much like a pre cocking with some mosfet.
Seemes as tho the company has been around running training or some such altho it is possible that Dynamic Action Sports and Dynamic Action Systems are different companies, however the fact they use airsoft to train may have lead them to branch out into this. Either way looks prety nifty. Don't think it'll replace gbbr ' s but it would be a great option for winter play while still "feeling" correct.

SuperCriollo December 10th, 2015 00:03

Well, the TOP shell ejecting EBB M4 already uses a similar concept. I would assume is something similar without the shells ?

Drake December 10th, 2015 00:37

The recoil would probably be lesser than a gbbr due to the fact the bolt carrier is almost entirely hollow (the spring appears to go all the way to the rear). I'd also surmise the FPS (and how much it can be upgraded) would be low, or everything will start behaving sluggishly.

Interesting, but not sure I'm sold.

I read around and apparently the Korean FPS is pretty low, so there's a good chance it won't make it into Canada, especially if the theory that the bolt is made out of plastic is true, then upgrading the spring and bolt to a metal one for Canadian versions is going to be pricey.

Insider from HK said it's near PTW pricing. (APPROX 1000+ USD)

Price as I stated, is PTW pricing. USD > CAD ATM, so.. $$$
