So my friend is looking to buy an AEG after the shit brand one he had just broke. Any recommendations for specific guns? or companies? around the 350-400$ price range.

VFC

What model of gun? Does he want an AR? AK? For that price range he's pretty much in VFC, LCT territory.

does he want to tinker and upgrade? VFC
does he want the best stock gun without any mods? Krytac
does he want a good balance of $$ and quality? G&G
does he want to cheap out and save a lot of $$ but risk breaking faster? It shall not be named

VFC: Yes, benefits from some work, good platforms to work on/with.
Krytac: Hardly the "Best gun" but better than some of the other options available.
G&G: Can go die in a house fire. Complete junk from my experiences, everyone loves them because they're cheap.

VFC Quake is a good one in that price range.
