good headset for Cobra FRS

I'v recently purchased a Cobra microTALK PR245.
It's a decent radio and i want to get a decent headset for it without paying 'professional' amounts of money.

It has only the one 2.5mm jack and plugging in any headset with a 2.5mm pin - like for your cordless at home or cellphone- seems to activate the microphone permenantly, transmitting continuously. abviously this is a problem.

besides the obvious solution of adding a ptt inline on the wire which can be difficult to find when in gear and tricky to operate with gloves, or while needing both your hand.

Is there a good headset to get off the shelf? like from Cobra or Motorolla, or some other place? for a reasonable amount - we're talking 30-40$.
Or will it be plain better to mcguyver a ptt where its convinient for the wearer, for example extended to clip on the sleeve or wrist etc.

Thanks

Cheap and Easy McGyver Style PTT for most FRS radios

Get some duct tape (every airsofter should have this in his kit) and a dome fastener still attached to some webbing, like the strap from a knife sheath or something.

Now tape the strap end below the PTT button on the radio and align the dome fastener with the PTT, drop it in a pocket or BHI strobe pouch and you have a quick and dirty PTT system that won't push all your other buttons when you use it.

Yea, i guess home made is the best....
i also noticed the the pin connections are reversed.. when you put a regular phone headset into a an FRS the earpiece becomes the mic and the microphone..well it doesnt really do anything since you can't stop transmitting... why is that? just so that people will buy mroe stuff?
