USP Slide stick

Hello all!

I was just wondering if all you USP compact owners out there have the same problem as me. I have a fully stock USP and when I try to rack the slide the action isn't very smooth and there is a minor screeching sound (possibly from the spring). I was wondering if this is common to all usp's or did i get a lemon? I've tried re-lubing all the possible areas where friction may occur but it still sticks. The feeling of stickyness when i rack the slide really bothers me not to mention the noise. Also when I slowly release the slide after I rack it it gets stuck half way.

Any input is appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

i had a similar problem once. i dumped mine in the sand and it penetrated everywhere. some got between the recoil spring and its guide and when i tore it down i sprayed the hell out of it with silicone oil and wiped the excess away. it got the sand grains out and the problem went away (i had to clean the rest of the gun too)

I'm looking into getting a USP myself so I'm hoping it doesn't happen to mine. Which company made yours?

I had a thread going about this a year or so ago when I got mine. Same thing... I tried oiling it, taking it apart, putting it back together, dropping it in sand (ha ha), and nothing helped. The gun fires fine, it just doesn't rack very smooth... just the way it is :P

if its any consolation to the person who wanted to buy a new one... my KSC usp compact has had no problems like that since i got it.. so... its not ALL usps that do it..
