Starting up ww1 airsoft
 

Hello, me and a few fellow airsofters are starting up ww1 airsoft. If you are interested please visit our forum.

Currently since things are so expensive, our first games will be held with bolt action airsoft guns, and attempts at a good impression. We don't expect anyone to get even close to a 100% impression at start, although that would be cool. If you are a sniper, we are even organising a small (very small) amount of snipers to help out each team. If someone built a close looking period machine gun they could use it. So if you are looking into getting out of the spec ops life style then please take a look.

Please note that IF we were to join your team, we would be unable to transport our weapons over the border to play with you. Your best bet is to stick locally, show up to regular airsoft games an' just get known. People will come to you when they see you out there.

I would of never thought as early as ww1, good luckin in finding uniforms, but ten again, I only look at ww2 uniforms.

There are plenty of sites dealing in World War 1 uniforms, so it isn't like it is a rarety. I think if I ever went World War 1, it would be as a Canadian.

You'd have to modify a Kar98 for a longer stock...an' then 'create' a Lee Enfeild, Vickers, Lewis an' a few other weapons from scratch. Only viable option. In my opinion too much work. I'd rather just go an' re-enact WW1 with one of the many organizations, an' some real-steels

BTW Im about to start a WW2 german impression and I am not really thinking of getting into WW1 anytime soon. But thanks for the info

The germans wore thoe helmets with the spikes for the first two years but allied snipers would shoot them off. So, in turn they started making them without it.

Really? Snipers would shoot them off? Thats an interesting fact. But werent those more of an officers helmet? Ive seen very old video of germans and british soldiers in ww1, and I didnt see any of the lobster helmets. Bismarck wore one, though, thats why I think they are more of an officers privilege.

The Germans used the pickelhaube from 1914 to 1916.

The infantry type was made of leather, as the rank got higher the quality of the pickle hat rose as well.
